Grrrr....I come home and my computer is whacked. Yes...I do leave it running at times during the day. I use all the appropriate precautions to leave it up like that. It rained today so I thought maybe the rain had something to do with it...like a power surge. At first my computer was not awake...which is highly unusual. Then when I tried to reboot it my computer acted like it was making adjustments...for lack of a better word. My email was done...bye bye Outlook...could not use at all. I have three accounts that come through there and it was tellig me that my server didn't exist. WTF...ok. Here's the best part though...I went to play music that and it attempted to run through Real Player. I received a pop up message that my connection/server had been changed. It advised that I needed to adjust my settings to DSL/LAN. Huh? I have a cable modem...damn thing is right next to me and all the lights are lit like he is working fine. No DSL/LAN lines here. The Real Player would not play until I accepted the request to switch my connection. I couldn't even click out of that damn box. When I checked the source of my errors in my Outlook it simply stated that there is no such server as the one that is provided by my cable/internet provider. I have a connection or I wouldn't be sitting here typing. Even my MSN was whacked at first and my home page had been changed. I went back and did my accounts all over and now the email is working. What gives? I did two full system scans and no virus. I ran Spybot Search & Destroy and I also ran Ad-Aware. Nothing. Is it possible that they have come out and did work on the phone lines and cable lines? I live in relatively new construction.
:conf:
To anyone that I blew off on MSN...it wasn't intentional. Sorry. :sadgreen:
EDIT: It's doing it again. |
