there is no way he can help himself because it's clearly been seen & UEFA will make an issue out of publicising their punishment to him, kinda like people in england saw with Rio Ferdinand

I think italy have to resort back to a conventional 4-4-2.

They have to drop pannucci, camoronesi and del piero.

Imo this would be the best line up

GK - Buffon
LB - Oddo
CB - Nesta
CB - Cannavaro
RB - Ferrari

LM - Zambrotta
CM - Gattuso
CM - Pirlo
RM - Fiore

CF - Vieri/Corradi
CF - Di Viao/Cassano

Maybe if del piero is given a free role in behind the two centre forwards he would be allowed to be more creative and maybe more effectice but tbh his heart just isn't in it anymore which is a shame.

I think the only way Italy will reach the second round is if they go with the above line-up as these are the form players just now.

I must say tho' I thought cannavaro was immense agaisnt denmark becasue him and nesta were getting no help from the midfield, maybe he isn't captain material but he didn't look under any pressure.

yeah, just watched the BBC Highlights of the matches today, absolutely disgraceful behaviour by Totti, a player of his magnitude should not do things like that and should know a LOT better.

I hope he is thrown out of the tournament.

I like how on the BBC sport news article surrounding this Totti has no recollection of the incident.

"He was quite surprised and claimed he had no memory of the incident."

the TV doesnt lie Mr Totti! Spitting in anyone's face is the lowest most pathetic method around, you cant go through life doing things like that, and that isnt the first time, Jamie Redknapp quite rightly said that Totti has had more hassle throughout the game in his own league than from Danish players tightly marking him.

The spitting was pathetic but what bothered me was that tackle. He came flying in late, completely forgot about the ball and rammed his studs right onto the outside of the guys knee. That's the sort of tackle that could end a player's career.

Remember Mihajlovic got an 8-match ban last season for spitting on Mutu when Lazio played Chelsea. Then again Mihajlovic has a history of being a racist twat on and off the pitch so maybe UEFA saw that act as the last straw.

that Mihaijlovic amazed me, giving racist abuse to Patrick Vieira in some match if I remember correctly, even spat at him.... how is that guy allowed to play football at all and earn the money he earns? scum of the earth.
Plastick
Totti should change his hairstyle, he sucks :D

Spitting at someone is just about the lowest thing you can do to someone in sport in my opinion. It shows absolutely no respect for your fellow sportsman, your competitor, and i hope Totti gets the book thrown at him.
Genesis Evolved
A 5 match ban, and then I hope the Italians reach the final :D

Man I like Totti, my favourite Italian player, but this is just low, wtf was he thinking. I hope he doesn't get off easy because hes Totti.
Vigilante
Me too, as you can see by my avatar, but what he did is inexcusable. I have lost all respect i had for him.

Same goes for Rivaldo after his diving effort in the World Cup.

Rudy
That spitting was absolutely disgusting, but I thought his tackle in the game again Denmark was even more disgusting! He ing aimed for breaking the guys leg!
What a ****!

He was my favourite player up until when I heard this. he should be sent home.

I have given up hope of Italy winning now. I've even given up hope of them getting out the group stages. Without totti we have no play maker.

Oh well, until world cup 2006.

come on sweden!!:)

agree completely
