Very frustrating to watch at time. England played too deep and just looked lazy and tired, giving away too many free kicks but that was partly to do with the swiss falling over and the ref being wank. But overall we've gotta be pretty happy with that result :D

Poor performance from England imo, they played better against France, England won by 3 goals to none, so imagine what France are gonna do to the Swiss team . . .
Scholes was weak, does he really deserve to be out there from the start?
Even thou i am a Man Utd fan, i still think Scholes needs to make way for someone else now.
Beckham as captain? He is not showing enough control over the England side, as captain he should make sure that Rooney does not get into the confrontations that get him those yellow cards.
Rooney is one man England can not afford to be without in any of thier games.
At least Owen showed a litte more effort in tonights game and they did not bring on Heskey.
Heskey should be put out to grass where he will be at home with all the other donkeys.

England usually play to the level of their competition. No offence to the Swiss, but they're an undisciplined, unimaginative team. The score could have been easily 5 or 6 nill. Wayne Rooney is the next English superstar guaranteed.
David James still makes me uncomfortable...I don't like his positioning on free kicks and corners and he is too tentative when judging when to go in the air to intercept a cross coming into the box. That could cost us later in the tournament. Michael Owen is proving to be highly overrated...I say start Vassel next game..he is quicker and far more tenacious.
Anyway, good result...a draw against the Croats will assure advancement. |
