Bush ad regarding Reagan

Anyone have any info on the ad Bush was running comparing
the fall of Communism to the war on terrorism?

Apparently Nancy freaked out and demanded the ads be pulled because it implied Reagan supported Bush when actually he didnt- mostly because of Support of Stem Cell Research. I believe they said she also felt Bush was using Reagan's name to campaign.

Wouldnt put it past him-

Reagan was a great president but seeing every tom dick and harry use it to get their mug on tv was getting a little old.

I hope that the clueless moron didn't have the audacity to do such a cheap, lowdown, pathetic thing. His war on terrorism of course includes Iraq and therein lies my problem with such an advert. If it was simply referring to Al-Qaeda and extremists bent on killing innocents maybe, not Iraq though.

well- that's why i wanted to verify this before i flipped out at it.

Here's an article on pro-Bush group who created the ad without the Reagan family's permission:

Reagan's Family Criticizes Use Of Reagan In Anti-Kerry Ad
Family Says Group Does Not Have Permission To Use Reagan's Image
POSTED: 10:28 AM EDT June 16, 2004

WASHINGTON -- Ronald Reagan's family is criticizing the use of the late president's image in a conservative political ad endorsing President George W. Bush.

OK To Use Reagan's Image?Do you think it is OK for a conservative group to be using Ronald Reagan's image in an ad for George W. Bush and against John Kerry?YesNo

The ad comparing Bush's war on terror with Reagan's battle against communism is being run by the conservative interest groupClub for Growth starting Wednesday. It shows footage of Reagan at the Berlin Wall, and Bush at ground zero.

The ad also said Democratic presidential contender John Kerry was "wrong then, wrong now" on national security.

Ad Affect Your Vote?Would seeing this ad make you more likely or less likely to vote for George W. Bush?More likelyLess likelyWould not affect my vote

A Reagan family spokeswoman said the group does not have permission to use Reagan's image in the ad because doing so implies his endorsement.

Club for Growth said it wants to show how similar Bush and Reagan have been "in terms of fighting evil." A Kerry spokesman said it's "pretty sad" that Bush supporters are already politicizing the nation's farewell to Reagan.

I thought the Bush/Cheney Reelection sticker on Reagan's casket was a little over the top.

Dubya is adopting Reaganomics to defeat the terrorist... Over spend on the military budget and run up the deficit. This will bankrupt the terrorist and we will live happily ever after. :wtf:

Go to your profile, go to settings or something like that, and upload a picture in the section where it talks about avatars.

Hmmm on that note, I think it's about time I change my avatar ...
