Hey there guys!
I rarely post, but some of you have seen me when Armin's been in D.C. and New York. Short guy with glasses, used to have long hair but no longer, getting trampled on by you big folk! ~_^
Anyways, I definitely will be coming to see Armin in Central Park. However, in the midst of my planning, I kinda hit a snag. So I was hoping maybe you guys could provide me with some options. Here's my situation:
Funds are kinda low. I do have enough money if I need it, but after paying for car insurance last week, and with car inspection due by the end of the month (not to mention the meetup with my college roomies next weekend...plenty of alchohol and take-out!), I'm trying to be realistic. My original plan was to drive from here in southeast PA to my old hometown in Central Jersey (Exit 8 NJ Trpk). There's a bus stop right in the middle of town that goes to the Port Authority, NY. That's how I got to NY when Armin was there in April. From there I'd take a cab to Central Park, or wherever everyone was hoping to meet up at. That'd be no problem.
But getting back would be. Last bus leaving the Port Authority for the stop in Central Jersey is at 11pm. Armin is scheduled to spin until 10pm, but it's possible he could go over that. Plus, I'd need a cab to get back to the station. Those are 2 variables that, time-wise, could be cutting things REAL close, and leaving me real stuck! And therein lies the dilemna.
I could just drive all the way up there. But parking lots are expensive...probably cost as much, if not more, than my original plan. Plus, I was hoping to take the bus so that I could at least close my eyes for a little before making the drive home.
I could also just leave Armin's set early to ensure I make it to the bus. But I hate leaving sets early, and I've never had to leave early for any of the other times I've seen Armin. And with that damn $8+ fee ticketweb tacked on, I certainly want to see it to the end! :whip:
Now, I know about the afterparty. Money-wise, I certainly would not be upset to miss it. However, if I did go, getting there would be an issue. And then getting back to the Port Authority in the morning would be an issue.
I work nightshift, so I don't have to be in at work until 10pm Friday night (I'm taking off tonight through Thursday night). So if I did end up going to the afterparty, providing I had a way to get back to the bus terminal, I would certainly have time.
So what do you guys think? Any other suggestions?
LOL...my brother and I are very different; he can do things last minute, no problem. I like to plan ahead. But it wasn't until this morning that I checked the bus schedule! D'oh!
Of course, if someone was willing to give me a lift, or meet me part way, whatever, I'd definitely provide money for gas, tolls, etc. Got plenty of good music I could bring along. I even have over 1/2 a bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila in the fridge I could take with me and share for some early fun! ^_~ However, I don't want to inconvenience anyone. I usually end up going to these DJ sets alone (my roomies from college are too lazy to drive out, my brother prefers dnb), so I was just trying to figure out how to manage this. So any thoughts/ideas are welcome.
wow...think this is my longest post here. ^_^
And I've been up since 9:20pm last night before I went to work...20 hours. Nothing new for this insomniac, though I think it's time for me to sleep now.
Alrighty...time for my usual milk, cookies, and porn before sleep. :D |

Thursday forecast for NY:
scattered thunderstorms, 60% percipitation. And of course, just like the last time, from 6pm to 9pm expect massive rain. Great... I dunno if I'd wanna go even with umbrella, I hated getting soaked last time around. I'd wear a scuba suit if I could only find one to fit my Arturoesque proportions :D |

even though i bought a "water-resistant" camera bag, i am still very leery of bringing my camera, even though i want to sooooo bad. and its the perfect size to fit my money, license, ticket, camera, and lipgloss.... all the essentials.
should i chance the camera? HOW resistant is water-resistant?? |
