1) Alcohol. Drink until you feel confident.

2) Working out.

3) A 100lb canvas punching bag. Learn how to hit. Get your friends to spar with you (16 oz gloves never hurt anyone). Learn to fight. If you arent afraid of touching boys do submission wrestling with your friends. Go until pain makes you tap out or unconsciousness is pending makes you tap out (headlocks).

I found that being in a boxing group with my brother and friends gave me lots of confidence. I knew I could fight. The problem was no one else did.

So I worked out, then people think you can fight, and you can. Dunno if this is a dead topic or what, but thought Id add :D

it's dead...you killed it hehehe j/k :stongue:

Rubbish advice. That’s like saying to someone who cant add, ‘Stop getting the wrong answer and get the right answer from now on’.

You can't just think positively.

Last time I checked, I am in complete control of my thoughts and mind. We all are...

If you are going to sit there and think negative thoughts and become nervous or sad, you just gotta catch yourself in the moment and talk yourself into thinking positively. You have to put things in perspective. It just depends on how strong minded you are. Usually the weak minded ones will sit there and say, "I CAN’T! bla bla bla".

Bull, yes you can.

There is a thing called cognitive dissonance. It means that your brain and you cant be seperate for very long. If you keep saying you are a loser, you will either become a loser or stop saying it. Your brain doesnt like thinking WTF every time you make a statement.

So. What you need to do is figure out what image you want to project (and be) do you want to look like a classy guy who speaks well and carries himself properly? Or do you want to be a misunderstood punk who dresses in baggy clothes and wears his hat sideways?

Do you want to look athletic (this requies gym work/outdoorsering) and like someone who knows how to handle themselves?

Find what your goal is. If your major characteristic is turning oxygen into carbon dioxide you need some work. Most people who are depressed have *SHOCKING REVELATION* poor self images/no self images. It goes both ways, but you tend to feel bad aboutyourself before you get depressed.

So write down all the things you want to be, list it, say, act it. Eventually your brainll do most of the work. You just need to put SOMETHING into it.

and quit hanging out with your loser friends. Dont have friends if they are going to be losers that detract from your goal. If you can see yourself as a wildly successful man, sharp dresser, wooer of women, would you want a bunch of swearing troglodytes breathing out of their mouths on whoever youre trying to talk to?

Get your together.

this was a public service announcement.

You go girl!

:)

Good advice though, only thing I have to add is that changes like getting more confidence don't have a magical and fast solution like in the Cinderella fairytale. You have to work and I mean really WORK on that , and you can't expect to just change that one aspect of your life without changing anything else. Doesn't work like that.

So time to put out, guy.:whip:

I’m assuming you are being sarcastic. Obviously there are exceptions...like people who are severely depressed and have chemical imbalances. Those are the ones who need lithium and strong medications to function. But for the average person who is feeling a bit down and can’t seem to shake the bad mood, I think my advice was good:p

It’s all about being in tune with yourself and your feelings…having a high emotional I.Q. I am extremely strong minded and I have a low tolerance for people who just bitch and complain about life and how it sucks and nothing is fair...there are bigger problems in the world, no offense. Just take a deep breath, and take things one step at a time. That's all I'm saying.
