Well, anyone still up for some good old skool style raving pre-Millenium style? I'll be there for 1998.

I know this is a late review, but better late than never.

1998 was awesome. Another great event thrown by Skills. Despite not living up to some of its promises as posted on their flyers, Skills still managed to deliver a magical and nostalgic night to its faithful following of ravers and EDM lovers. The main reason as to why Skills could not make good on their promise of having white UV lasers in the event or even going on til 2 a.m. was because they had to move the venue at the last minute from the Avalon Ballroom to the Grand Regency Ballroom. But still they managed to deliver. Me and my friends were too late to see Telene or Enemy spin, but we caught Denise as she began another smokin' hard dance/hardstyle set which started to set the party in motion. The party was well underway by 11:00 once Mars and Mystre took hold of the decks. And by then, about 70% of the crowd was rolling on Ecstasy.

It was an unbelievable night. Everyone truly partied like how they did back in the good old days. Fabulous light shows, candied out ravers jumping up and down in joy, and classic trance tunes pumping throughout the ballroom...it was all one Helluva sight to take in. They also threw a slide show of pictures from past venues that Skills had thrown as an extra visual as the d.j.'s spun. And during the last hour and a half with Dyloot rocking out, they began showing pictures of ravers who had entered the ballroom earlier in the night. They showed my picture 3 times. I went out with a bright red soccer shirt, candy necklaces, blue glowsticks and a large puffy American Patriot Hat. I normally don't dress up in candy, but hey, it was a 1998 theme, so I just had too. I met so many different people that night too, but unfortunately I can't remember any names. But to whoever you guys were, I give out mad love and respect for coming out there that night. Too bad I couldn't get tickets for 1999. I know that party would have been even bigger. Ah well. Hope seeing Sasha this Friday will be just as fun as this one.
