Heh, at the risk of sounding like a technosnob (which I previously was), REAL progressive music.
Haha... well, if "progressive is an attitude", and progressive music is the result of this attitude being put into action, it sounds reasonable, doesn't it? If you wanted me to classify it further:
Progressive Melodic Wild Western Breaks ;)
It's certainly unique. |

gaaaaah ive been outa the loop for so long havent had the time to keep up w/ my favorite EDM artists... nor this thread :P
WOW are gods... as much as i love and have tremendous respect for nick warren, i think its a shame that jody wisternoff will always be the shadow man in regards to WOW. tho he most def shouldnt be. just my 2 cents i suppose.
anyways my favorite tracks by wow:
*Activity
*Blue
*Questions Never Answered
*The Gift
*Secret
*Sharkhunt
*Mindcircus <-- original album mix, the G&D mix gives the song bad name :P
*stealth
*UB Devoid
*Drive By
i dont think theres a single track on either albums that i dislike!
*Hybrid - If I Survive (WOW Mix)
*James Holden - Horizon (WOW Mix)
*Dubstar - Stars (WOW Mix)
*Kosheen - Catch / Hungry (Wow mixes)
*Innercity - Good Life (Wow Mix)
*Sattva - Echo (WOW Mix)
*Futura Sound - Call My Name (WOW Vocal Mix)
*Lucky Monkey - Bjango (Wow bjangin mix)
*Jose Padilla - Sabor de Verano (Way out west Mix)
mmmmm excellent. i honestly think they are heaven sent musical geniuses! i feel blessed to have been introduced to their music years ago. :) |

Indeed. We get to see WOW LIVE here in Finland few weeks before the album release. I can't wait to see them live as i have already seen their DJing capabilities many times before. |

you lucky Finnish bastids will also get the full live show as opposed to just the laptop + vocalist!:eyespop:
Torley, with your further stylistic delineation, you forgot to include spacy somewhere.:haha: |

it must be said that I do love WOW and Nick Warren. Although Nick's mixing can be quite poor at times (eg his essential mix from october 99) he was the first person that introduced me to EDM, and many years later I still listen (and very much enjoy) all of his Global Underground mix CDs and Essential mixes.
His GU24 - Reykjavik was outstanding, especially CD1. Needless to say it is my favourite post club recovery music |

I'm not sure if this was the most appropriate thread to necrobump but the boyz are back in bidness with the first new album in 5 years, which will be imminently released (well, in October at least :p).
The new music is quite nice and for a dance act that has been together for 16 years, it is quite rare to get consistently good quality throughout such a tenure, and from a duo at that. While other legends have fallen from grace to the wayside (ahem, Chicane especially, and BT has even had his rough spots), it is refreshing to be able to rely upon a rock solid act like the aforementioned. They are still retaining melody without overt cheesiness unlike many of their contemporaries.
A healthy sampling of the new material can be had HERE and HERE for those who have been living under a rock. :p |
