And please don't forget to mention your cat's name, your birthday, how many hip hop clubs are in your town and how many pixels are on your screen right when you finshed uploading the sample. Please tell every deep feeling you had, every single drumloop you used...:D

The track becomes more personal if you just mention how many time you spent or why you made it, or so. I like a story behind a track, gives more depth than just. "Hey. link Enjoy."

ok, lets say about 5 people post new samples each day. Would be 35 new sample in thread in one week, 140 in a month. This would be totally chaos, some people would get no response to their samples, because the better tunes ( which is a question of taste ) would get more feedback. And who would like to review a topic with so many new samples ?

Better chaos in one thread than chaos in a whole forum section, like this moment! The sample thread is ment to be checked often and samples in it deserve few but still good reviews, just to give the producer an idea where he stands.

Only full tracks as threads, would be a good thing, keeps oversight.

maybe have two subforums within the promotion forum? one for samples and one for full length tracks?

it would be nice indeed, but i doubt it if we recieve such subforum..

i hope peopl start labeling their productions from now on at least that improves this section a tiny bit imo.

I think this is a great idea... I could always hear the explosion of tempers when some 1 minute clip got posted just above some FULLY MASTERED 8:23 masterpiece of trance tunage.

Who knows maybe labels will tend to check out this forum more often, if they can have more insight, you think a trance labels or dj knows which tunes are tranc and which aint?

I dunno I still don't like the idea. It doesn't matter about genre to me, most of the tunes I've listened to from here have been uplifting, euphoric kinda trance. I don't listen to this usually but I still don't mind reviewing them. If you label a tune techno you're only going to get techno fans listening to it, if you label it prog you wont get people who don't like prog. If you don't label it at all, you get feedback from everybody and as long as people are constructive with their feedback (i.e. "The tune isn't my thing but I think the production here is great etc....") it means you get a lot more feedback.

Feedback is the main reason I post my tunes. I'm not trying to get the attention of any labels, or create a massive fanbase; I just want to know how I can improve my productions.

i'll do something at the weekend, but the chance of the forum is slim to none and a bad idea imo, the samples forums simply won't get visited or used. better if the titles are clearer and the bitrate rules are adhered to, if there is a naming convention actually sorted ill add it to the rules thread, i have exams anyhoo for the rest of the week, but i will sort it out don't fear.
