Ok Here it goes.... I am Finding a strange thing occuring every time i mix now , it never use to happen but lately i am ed up about it... When you are basically in the middle of a mix and the two records are playing over the top of each other ( both full volume , cross fader in the middle) Both the beats are bang on and the mix is smooth , then i change the head phones to the other track to slowly take it out and complete the mix, but i start to up as soon as i do that, I dont know wich beat is which and panic start touching the viynl i think is going out of beat and its the wrong one and the mix s up..... This is so hard to explain , but please try and make some sense out off this and give me feed-back..... Basically this problem only occurs when i switch the head-phone arround to the other track

Just practice, you'll get it. If it always seems to be the wrong one you correct, just try correcting it the other way (i.e. make it faster instead of slower or vice versa) and see if that makes a difference.

The more you practice, the easier it will be to decide which track is too fast/slow. This is also where knowing your tracks comes in, you will find that there is a certain hi-hat or something that you know is from one of the tracks, and you can tell if that track is then too fast or whatever.

Practice alot and it will come to you.. as said: practice leads to perfection!

Try lowering the bass on the track coming in...if the bass is too high they will start clipping and it will sound very screwed up.

I had the same problem as you for a couple days, practice makes perfect.

ooooh.... I hate it when that happens......... why don't you try not switching your headphones or setting the headphones to play both tracks? that's what I do and my mixes are really smooooooth and looooong!!!!!!!

im pretty new to mixing myself but i always mix with my headphones setup so that i can hear both the vinyl at the same time.. just seems so much more easier for mixing
