allright so everyone tells me if I want to live pa I should get ableton live but I hate loops.Im looking for more like a dual step sequencer program where I can make it and change the beats in realtime instead of just programming loops I want to be able to cut it over to the other step sequencer when I want to change it..Does this exist anywhere or something like it?Is there a function like this in ableton or is basically just cooledit or acid but for live performance.Keep in mind im not really at a time in my life where hardware is an option but I want to know the program I am going to use when I do get there.I have also messed around with the ableton demo for about 4 hours max so I might not know of these capabilities. |

Just remember that if you want to play all of your songs live, you will need to have running ALL of the synths and effects for all of your songs. Could be a real CPU muncher. |

I got a buddy i want to tag with actually so if you got two people it can keep things very interesting I think.I want to do live pa trancecore.I don't think anyone does it so I think it will be quite a novelty. |

if you want to go live you'll need some loops anyway. If you want control over your songs that is. A MIKE live is slightly different, then you just need a cdj-100.
You're not at a time where hw is an option :conf:
A powerfull pc with sofware and top notch soundcard, loads of expensive software is about 3 times as much as a second hand rm1x + virus b so you're not making any sense. |

lemme rephrase my question. Are there any step sequencer programs (or hardware I guess) meant for live Pa.I wouldn't mind using loops for melodies but I want to make and edit the drums in real time. Also is there some kind of effects processor with real knobs that is smart enough to hook up through the computer so I can change the effect on one instrument that is on my computer instead of the whole mix.Maybe something via midi.Or is this what a midi controller is for? |

get a kenton control freak- assign the sliders to whatever midi parameters you want and the relevant control changes and you should have sort what you want with regards to control.
Careful programming in cubase could give you the drums you are after- ive done it myself, or an mc303 or simlar should be up to the lopping/on the fly drums you require.
Id strongly recommend for any live situation as many individual outputs as possible with a mixing console giving as many instruments as possible their own fader- will give you ultimate control, and you can do fuin things like having one lopp per channel and with them live. |

im experimenting with live pa alot recently,,
like mixing up a couple of vinyls, and then loading a template i made in reason and starting to about with it.
all this is especially fitting if im dealing with acid music in that set. |
