Man, I feel your pain. Something kinda similar happened to ma a few years back. We were driving along a main road through town, alongside which runs a footpath. The footpath is behind a load of bushes, and on a slight hill, so it's raised above the road, and down the bank runs the road parallel to it.
Anyway we were driving along, and out of nowhere a huge f-off rock flies from out of the bushes where the path runs and plummets towards our car. It smacked the roof of the car, making this huge dent, and then fell onto the road. My mum slammed on the brakes and I whipped out of the car, up the bank and onto the path where we had glimpsed some kids, but they had long gone. I went back to look at the car, and all the paint had been taken off where the rock hit, and the car needed some heavy dent removing.
If those kids had thrown that rock just a second earlier, it would've gone straight through the windshield and killed either myself or my mum (who was driving). Kids are so in stupid. Christ, I dont know how they managed to lob the rock that far. I was so pissed off at them, and would have beat them half to death probably lol. Scary stuff though. My mum was in shock for the rest of the journey.
