I have just realised, in realtion to the catering coursed thread i started, that i shall be a student again.
As it has been so long please remind me of all the perks that you recieve?
Anybody know if i will have to carry on paying tax as it is only a part time course?

| I wouldn't have thought you'd have to pay tax. Might be worth giving the Citizens Advice Bureau a call. I can't wait to be a student again so the tax man can't rape me. |

little to no tax
no council tax is definately a bonus
NUS card for cheap maccy d's and CD's and stuff
staying in bed til 1pm
the ability to enjoy midweek pound a pint nights without consequences the next day (other than massive hangover)

this one definitely applies...haha...
perks of studying? kate...take a look at the pain me, lammy and toni go thru with studying and doing uni work all the time. i give up on education..after this year, no more for me. i have been sleeping every day at 6am this entire wk cuz of a ing project i have to do. getting raped by unpaid work is so unworth it. |

Tax, i don't think i'll be getting that back, as i shall be working full time and studying 2 eves a week.
I don't think i'll find the work drains me socially, the only things i do of an eve is mix and watch tv really, and i can drop the tv watching for work. The theory is meant to be fairly intensive for 2 years study so i will just have to take it as it comes. 1/2 the course is practical so i'll just practice cooking nice with mine and gareths suppers. |

As it's not 'Full-Time Education' you will be entitled to little or no benefits. You will certainly pay income and council tax. You will not get free prescriptions or the like, i dont even get those, you have to be on the brink of poverty.
