| Is there any information available on the group GMS (psy/acid trance)? I know they released the album "No Rules" but I've seen other relases not on that album. Is there a complete discography available so far? ...or maybe a complete listing of all the tracks they've worked on. Anyone have any more info/comments on this group? |

All their songs sound kind of the same and they're notorious for ing over promoters.
Though, they can rock a pretty decent show and I really like the live remix of juice. |

Agreed. But I guess they're making loads of money by churning out that insanely repetitive stuff at the insane rate of theirs, since it works so well on the floor. I'll pass by their hideous project Zorba in silence for the time being..
That being said, they've made some wicked tunes. On A Mission From God, Liquid Skies (GMS Mix), Speaking Robot (GMS Remix) and Juice to name some. And live they rock. |

Do they produce acid trance? I guess I would like to see some 303 on their tunes.
(and yes, they're annoyingly repetitive) |

Hate Psy/Acid/Goa/Gabber. Repetitive and no tunes...or synths or ANYTHING! Just pure Pants! They happen to be big in my country always are a sell-out. GMS,Skazi,Infected Mushroom all Big here and come way too often. Unfortunately, this whole country has got a wrong notion and thinks that is Trance. well it is....but thats all they think is "Trance" and thats what its all about. Hate it. Anyone with lil sense in music can make that at home with the right software...no wonder they churning out tunes at that pace. The acid lines...man yuck! the distortions....BBaaaahhhh!
Just my Opinion......not forcing it on anyomne ;-)
Cheers. |

GMS is probably my second fav after skazi to see play live
I think its quite different to hear the psy guys play live as opposed to tracks they churn out via record labels :D
Neways
GMS vs Talamasca- Mutation
GMS vs Alien project- hyperactive

I what way are these genres related to this topic?
I'm still looking forward to hearing a tune from GMS with acid lines (I haven't yet) and I don't think they've ever thought of producing a gabber track (even because if they did, I would be the first to hype the tune).
Oh well :p |

I wont...its not my kinda music...but I have friends who have and have opened for Skazi a couple of times in Australia.
Besides I was/am never into music for the money.I think it would be waste of time (in my opinion) to make music that you cant connect to or cant relate with.
About Goa/Gabber, it originated from Goa. Acid is an offshoot of Psy..... thats how its related. Not related to this thread I agree.
GMS tracks dont have Acid line...dunno havent heard too much of their stuff, but i wasnt refering just to GMS...I was talking about all the 4 genre's in unison. Sorry if you got me wrong.
As I said earlier they are all MY opinion.
cheers. |

Gabber didn't come from Goa: it came from hardcore techno and early british hardcore breaks, which was the beginning of the hardcore scene in Europe. In fact, hardcore influenced Goa, not the other way round.
As for acid, acid trance came from acid house and german techno, so it had nothing to do with Goa as well (and acid techno is not related to psy-trance in any way). Some psy producers use the 303, but their influences from goa are still too strong to label their tunes along with genuine acid trance. |
