Friends and dance music

Ok, several of my friends are into dance music, but none are as into it as myself and my fiance.
Tonight we are going alone to club heaven, and it feels wierd not going with a big group. (We usually take several people).
We like to go every weekend, at least once, and no one else seems to be able to keep up with that pace.
It is hard when not too many people even know what trance is in LA.
Maybe I am hanging with the wrong crowd. lol
Who do you TAs usually go with? |

well i havent been here that long or met any fellow t.a's ... a few...i would like to meet everyone...then i'd have more reason to go for all the events...now with work and no-one to go with regularly there no drive...missed quite a few of em cause i had no one to go with...ure lucky ure fiance is into this stuff...my gf wouldnt give a rat's ass.. the reason im not going for filo and peri tonite... gonna watch fahrenheit 9/11... hopefully its not sold out... |

| Most of my friends are into hip hop.... Which btw, I dont mind. I'm open minded so I listen to everything... But my true passion still remains EDM.... Sometimes I go to the shows alone, but I dont mind cuz I usually find or make friends there... |

I was @ Trance Club Heaven last night too!!!!! I went because my good friend is one of the promoters, and I wanted to support him. Other than that, I wasn't feeling the music... Filo & Peri are NOT my style, AT ALL! :nervous:
Anyway, I'm lucky enough to have friends that are into the same kind of music as myself. I do have alot of friends who are into hip hop and mainstream stuff only, but I just don't have much in common with them, so I don't hang out with them alot.
Next time you go to these trance clubs, u should just socialize with everyone, and make new friends... so next time u want to go to these clubs, u can go with them, ya know? :) |

You definately should have hung around. Both Tom and Dominick played genre I really don't dig, but it's your favorite, tracks that I do remember: Godd, .... Damage(can't remember full name,some techno rmx of it), some really techno bangin' rmx of Beastie Boys(don't know the name of the track though, sorry). Brian and I left around 3:20am - 3:30am just when they were starting to mellow things down just a bit, but still very hard pumpin' :D

I'm kinda new to the whole club scene, I've been listening to trance since Aug 2001. I haven't been to any shows mostly because my friends don't listen to trance at all or don't apprciate it like i do. I would like to go, but i kinda wouldn't want see a bunch of shows alone. Where's the fun in that? If anyone from the Seattle area wants a buddy to go with send me a PM or something.

same here, most of my friend don't even know and don't care for
trance at all. They used to go to rave but for reason that are
not related to music. Me, I go alone. If I'm lucky, i drag along
one my friend. But fawk, the music is all that matter to me. |

| You should also get to know some people from the boards and agree to meet up and go to the clubs with them as well. |

i always prefered to go alone and meet up with ppl there. gives you more freedom. i am not friends with many people who are into edm that i didnt meet in a club. but by going out frequently like you say, i saw the same ppl very often and became friends with a lot of them. so i say, be outgoing and meet new ppl.

Are most people really friendly when you just approach them in a club or something? If you notice them at another venue what are the odd's that they'll remember you. I understand the whole freedom thing but what about the ride home. You can't really talk to any of the people you met. To me this is sorta like going to the movies, the reason why people take friends along is so they can exchange opinions and fave parts of the movie. Plus it sucks driving home and laughing about a specific scene and no one to laugh with you *I watch Old School by myself in a movie theater.
