well, its morning, and PBS is on, and then this show called "boohbah" comes on......its like the heavy acid version of tele-tubbies.

what the is this on now days? I mean, its just an hour or whatever of pure nonsense.....spinning lights, floating aliens, and these things saying words you can barely understand......every 5 minutes these ing gum drop looking things say "boohbah" and they just bounce around and fall into a rainbow while floating through a euphoric space.......and everynow and then you have a blank white screen with just the sound of little kids laughing.....

Anyone who grew up in the early 80s woke up to superhero's fighting evil enemies, or counting the abc's in sesame street.....but this , its beyond any logic......sure they throw in SOME educational , but overall the show is solely dependand on visual stimulation....its kinda spooky.

www.boohbah.com

I wholeheartedly agree. The other day I took care of my cousins and even the cartoons on nowadays are a constant stream of gibberish and nonsense. The storyline is nonexistant, and the horrible animation could give someone a seizure. I don't know how kids stomach this stuff. It's like a 30-minute television-administered lobotomy.:whip: :whip:

ABOUT BOOHBAH

Boohbah is an exciting new programme for children, with a format that fosters both creative thinking and creative movement. Boohbah is entirely designed to encourage physical action on the part of its young viewers. It deliberately combines infectious magical movement, for children to imitate, with inset stories for them to predict outcomes.

The design of the show - visually and otherwise, draws upon early concepts in science, maths and art and combines these with ‘televisual magic’ to create a uniquely funny television experience.

The Boohbahs, five magical atoms of power, light and fun travel in their Boohball around the world, from child to child. Fifteen countries are visited throughout the changing title sequence.

The Boohbahs represent the imaginative power and light which allows children to control the screen action by the use of the magic word “Boohbah”, and send presents into an imaginary Storyworld for the Storypeople - Grandmamma, Grandpappa, Mrs Lady, Mr Man, Brother and Sister, Auntie and Little Dog Fido to play with and make a story in partnership with them. We hear the children intervening in the screen action by the sound of their blowing and their use of the word “Boohbah”. This motivates the action and moves the story along. Only Little Dog Fido is not wholly in their control! Children are totally engaged and have a lot of fun guessing which Storyperson will appear and what will happen next.

(nods head)

and you gotta wonder how appealing LSD will be to these kids in 10-20 years from now. I know for a fact that we all subconsciouly feel a natural comfort when we see shows/toys from our childhood, and when a drug such as LSD could bring back the same visualations that put them in awe as a child, who knows how appealing it will be. Bit of a stretch I know, but not impossible.

The problem is in one way or another, the shows are influenced by drugs, there's no denying that. And since there is absolutely no storyline, no plot, just simply 30 minutes of euphoric sounds and visualizations, I just cant help but wonder how appealing LSD is gonna be to these people in the next decades.
