hey guys and gals.. i need your opinion on music player performance issues.

ok, so it's the summer and i have practially all these new inventions and quarks running all over the place zig zag everywhere . now i am thinking about making my own MusicPlayer, since i am starting to get the feeling that my WindowsMedia and WinAmp is very tedious (don't ask me why. i think it's something psychological within me.)

i am working on it so far, and i got to the core to where it is actually playing music. Here is my performance results as of so far....

Computer Speed : 533 Mhz (yes. i have a slow computer. i do have a 1.7 Ghz, but i usually do my test trial runs on my cooky computer programs on my 533, before running it on my 1.7)

Operating system : 2000

Memory Space : average of about 10 MB (depending on the size of the MP3/WMA/whatever music file)

CPU : an average of about 6 to 7 %, where it maxs to about 15% about 10% of the time and most of the time (about 75% of the time) it is around 3 to 5% (yes, i totaly stared at the cpu diagonistics screen for like 5 minutes to get statistics. hahahaha)

so what do you guys think of the performance so far?.. i need opinions.. feedback.. answers.. comments.. whatever ..

** F.Y.I - if some people are curious what program i am running, I am using VBStudio 6.0, and adding the WindowsMedia Player dlls to my program. I am using the dlls to access the media information (length of file, name of file, location of file, information about file) and using WindowsMediaPlayer internally (without opening the actual physical application) to play the songs. This is just for now, until I can get the real logistics down to creating my own actual player without 3rd party dlls.
