I liked the movie, expect the part where that jackass gets married, lamest thing ever. Besides that, great movie. |
You mean the part where he has Tom Hanks propose for him, and the lady accepts? It was like agreeing to a blind date except with marrige. She had no clue who the dude was.
That scene alone would ruin the movie, if there weren't like 200 other scenes that also did the job. |

| I agree with Gino -- the Terminal was a really good movie, and is better than most of the drivel playing in theaters recently. Tom Hanks was funny, and the supporting cast did a good job. If you can't sit still for more than 5 minutes without an explosion to keep you entertained, you probably wouldn't like it very much. But to call it the worst movie ever is simply ridiculous. Its not even in the bottom half of movies released this year. |

About 7 years ago I gave up listening to peoples comments/reviews about movies. I'll ask but it means nothing to me.
There's people out there right now that think dodgeball was absolutely hilarious, personally I just think people are very easily amused with a desperation to laugh at any chance they get. Always being the "funny guy" in the group, ive learned people will laugh at anything. I literally know people that laugh at every audience "laugh" queue that you hear on tv shows. Its depressing to watch. A huge desperation for entertainment.
The Terminal was alright, but IMO could have been a bit better, nonetheless still a big fan of hanks and spielberg. Same goes with Lost in Translation, the average joe shmo wont like that movie, which is fine, I just know i saw something else in it that no one else could.
I've also learned most people dont like to think when they go to a movie. So as long as the majority rules on this, we'll continue to have movies like "dude wheres my car" "dodgeball" "soul plane", etc. popping out.....
Maybe i'm a bit dramatic, but imo a movie collection can tell a lot about a person, just like music. I've seen some of the worst dvd collections of all time, and its no coincidence I can almost actually guess someones DVD collection by talking to them for 10 minutes. Interesting how that works..... |
i totally agree with you. except for one thing. IMO, Lost in translation was the most boring movie ive seen this year. |

And what did you see in that movie that no one else could? Seems quite a few people must have seen something in it since it was up for best movie and Bill Murray for best actor.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've yet to go see The Terminal but I definitely plan on it. |

| I loved "The Terminal". I ignore people's opinions on movies for the most part, and the same goes for most music. (There are a few people here and a few outside the Internet that I talk to who have the same likes and dislikes as I do, however.) |

i'm speaking about everyone ive talked to. Forums, not exactly this one, but you name it, and most didnt seem to like it. I just know ost people in this country need some form of hollywood blow-up with a predictable ending to walk out satisfied. Thats ofcourse based on the success of these "action" movies that have been endlessly coming out in the past 10 years. |
