there a lots of programs that let you mix mp3's and/or wav files on yer computer... if you go to http://www.cnet.com you can go through their downloads... they have a section where you can download music making and mixing progs... but i would start out with mixmeister... http://www.mixmeister.com ... i got a better idea of how to mix... when i could start mixing songs... that sorta thing... i had turntables before i got the prog... and after i used mixmeister for a while... i found it a little easier... if you want a registration code thangy for it... my e-mails [email protected] i'll give you one to use... other than that... good luck!

Also check out Traktor and PCDJ.. both are great programs for mixing.

I haven't used MixMeister so i can't give you my opinion on this program.

you need a program called "BPM-Studio"

I have worked as a DJ for many years, playing both vinyl and CDs...
This software is without doubt in my mind THE best software for ANY dj that wants to use his PC instead of turntables or cd-players.

It acts JUST like a Denon twin cd-player (somewhere in between the 2000 and the 2500 model)...

Two soundcards is recommended (or a SB Live card... it has two outputs)

I use BPM-Studio together with my SB Live!Platinum, and a Vestax PMC01A mixer. (in this way I get the "real" dj-feeling when playing)
You can use BPM-Studio without an external mixer too... But I find it very not-dj'ish to not use an external mixer.

This software is just brilliant for low-budget bedroom dj's... :)

That's what i did before i got my CD players.. it's very professional and good to use with an external mixer, but if you don't want an external mixer Traktor will be better for you...
