Here's my remix for the contest
I didn't make it to the final but some feedback would be great

Download here, yes here that's right

sound quality could be a bit better. anyway, i realy like the strings in the break, very lovely. also the congas are great.
Massive84
hmmm the production is quite good, nice subtle perc and fx, though i wasn't so keen on the snare, it didn't add a good drive, and the bass sounds also drivless to put it that way.

pads are indeed nice.

the lead sounds weak.

second part is nice, what you did with the lead, but here also the synth sounds quite weak compared to the rest.
RiCo
Well...I like the girl in your avatar.:p
M1cro5lave
I kind of liked the way you played with effects, and I just love the pads.

Needs some mastering however, think parts of it is a bit too high and could be more smooth compared to the rest, or just make the rest higher too so that you don't get the differences so obvious.

Good track, like it very much! :happy2:
Subtle
plus
cool effects
loving the ride
very cool that you take the chance to make such effects
cool that u have added another melody

minus
a little messy beginning
little things are happening the first 2:30 minutes..
the melody gets too mudded out
flat percussions

Downloading now will post a reply later;)

Ok from the start:
I like the most of the percussions
-Kick sounds good as the open hihat
-I love those delayed bongos
-I don't like the snare that much (don't know maybe just got used to the claps)
-The ride fits well

The synths:
-They sound nice
-The pad & that effect during the 2:30 are the :D
-The lead lacks of effects

Is a nice production, keep working.
broken silence
sounds really nice--a bit plasticy sounding. The progression sounds great, i love the percs and stuff, but the reason why they're a tad messy is because some of them are panned weird. I'm not a fan for ultra-stereo sounding mixes, and yer percs kinda do that.

The kick drum sounds weak too.

The intro is fabulous, really good and different sounding.

I just heard a hard panned thing on the break---didn't like that much. I've heard that hard panned stuff doesn't work well with cutting vinyl, so I've stayed away from doing that.

Your lead sounds great, but it's really dead center compared to the rest of the mix. Also it sounds quite dry, more reverb would help it sit in better.

I really like how the lead changes at the second chorus!

The 303's are great too! Nice and wispy.

Sounds like a great job to me, just would need some sorting. Some eq would help the slight "plastic" sound that it has too. I don't get why they didn't tell you to sort osme of the stuff and pick it up...because with a few fixes, this would definatley be better than the original.
Polak
I like it, but at 3:45 the echo is too long

DeZmA
thx for the replies so far guys

@ polak, that's the amp release to make the climax

@ broken silence : I kept the bassy stuff and the main lead in the middle so vinyl shouldn't give problem (as they're going to release this anyway  :p ) You might be right that I shouldn't pan that much, just keep in mind that panning image changes on headphones and I did the endmix on monitors and I like some things changing around in the stereo field, it's cool in clubs n stuff too.

Nice to hear most of you liked my freaky efx
for the rest, well yea, got tired for once with the clap, so did a snare :D

Dezma by default I don't critizise anybody but this remix sounds too simple and nothing original. The lead SAW is little weak and song is like too messy but anyway keep it up -> cy around!
Compression and EQ part is the weakest.

PAD and STRING part is PRO!

CRITISIM is GOOD ;)

Keep it up and cy around!
