I know this has nothing to do with anything, but recently i bought a whole bunch of cd's and some of the files on them i can't view in my windows media player, and i also downloaded quicktime also, and the same thing happeneds. I'd really be greatful to anyone who could help me out please thanks.
this is what happeneds. im sure that they are .avi files. I click on them to play it and something happeneds. it says i dont have the codec to view these types of files with my windows media player. then it trys automaticly to download the codec (i guess codec is something that compresses the file so i can watch it) from somewhere and then an error message comes up and it wont work. (the same thing happeneds with quicktime) so im wondering if anyone knows what to do or a website that i can go to to d/l the codec, or any other programs that i could d/l or even buy so i can view these files with. thanks for your time.
also i don't know anything really about computers, but isn't there programs to transfur things, like make the .avi file into a diffent type of file so i can watch? thanks again. |

Hi Freeza,
You probably have a broken avi (means an avi that is not complete). Most players can`t play these but there`s one that can. It`s called The Playa. Get it here:

I use it all the time because broken avi`s are quite common.
Hope this helps! |
