Grown men fighting...

After voting I was driving out the parking lot and I saw two men in their mid-30s fist fighting.
They were swinging at each other, landing the odd blow, yelling and then throwing punches at each other, over and over.
I drove over to where they were, rolled down my window and laid on my horn until I got their attention.
Startled they both stopped and looked at me, at which point I forcefully hollered out the window of my car:
"Hey! Stop that fighting! That type of behavior is inappropriate! STOP IT!"
I suspect that I paused their aggressiveness long enough for reason to set in. They backed away from each other and one of the men said, "he hit me first" to which I abruptly responded, "I don't care! Fighting isn't acceptable!".
The men parted ways and I stuck around long enough to ensure that they didn't start up again.
My good deed is done for the day. I may now rest.

where were u on saturday night when i got a lift home from a bunch of people i met at a club and as we were pulling out of the underground parking and two guys came around the corner with bats and started beating in the van i was in and the van cleared to chase them and i was left stranded?
I thought abt taking the van home lol |

The one guy was taking most of the beating (the one who said "he hit me first") and had a pretty red/bruised face.
I'm just glad they stopped and I didn't have to get out of my car to get involved.
Just goes to prove that the word coupled with common sense is still very powerful. |

They knew that would have been a bad choice. Fighting is not acceptable behavior and is always a bad choice. |

Whether you like it or not, fighting is part of our nature. It's a way of getting in touch with our roots, one of the very few activities we could ever engage in that could be traced back to the days our ancestors walked around wearing furs, carrying heavy clubs in their hands. In your eyes, it may not serve a useful purpose, but it does, just like everything else in life. If anything, it's a healthy way of releasing anger - as opposed to picking up a gun and shooting up your classmates a la Columbine. But hey, go on ahead trying to analyze life out of existance, i'm not stopping you. |
