My crazy mental connection with my best friend!

I just had the craziest thing happen to me. So crazy that I need to share this with someone. You guys seem like a good choice. hehe! Years ago my best, DJ Santana, did a CD that begins with the song Don't Be Afraid by Terra Ferma and ends with Pearl River by Johnny Shaker. I loved these two songs years ago...I was absolutely obsessed with them. I loved Pearl River becase of the feel of the song...it just builds and builds...and because of the lyrics. I loved Don't Be Afraid because of the lyrics. The only time that I have ever heard Don't Be Afraid was either by listening to that CD or the one time I heard it out when Paul spun it in Orlando years ago. I don't even know of anyone else that has it. Pearl River...I have never heard it outside of a house party or CD. This CD is from 1999 or 2000. I lost it at one time and then found it last year. I had put in a huge CD case that was inside of my house. Last night I thought about the song Don't Be Afraid (for personal reasons) and tried looking up the lyrics on the internet. I couldn't find them anywhere. I couldn't remember the name of the artist so it was really driving me crazy. I decided to change out some CDs to my smaller wallet and I put that CD in so that I could listen to it in the morning. This CD is worn...water marks on it..and doesn't play in some spots. On the way to work I listened to two songs...Don't Be Afraid and Pearl River. Now...to myself I thought...I am going to contact Paul and ask him about Don't Be Afraid...to find out the artist. AND...here is the best part...I was going to ask him to send them both to me on MP3. I have my reasons for wanting them. This conversation never took place. I never had a chance to talk to Paul. Today I receievd an email from Paul saying that when I got home tonight that I would have a surprise waiting for me. Not in a million years would I have thought that when I walked in my door tonight that I would have the emails that I had waiting for me. The first email had the MP3 for Pearl River. The second email had the MP3 for Don't Be Afraid. I had to call Paul to make sure that I wasn't crazy. The first thing I asked him was...did I ask you to send me those two songs? I'm sure he thought I was crazy, but I really needed to know. Just as I thought...I didn't ask him. I sent him an email saying "Your mental connection to me is absolutely amazing. I am just blown away. Good thing I was sitting down when I opened this email." and "What made you send these to me? I am having a really difficult time comprehending this." When I opened that first email and saw the song I sat there stunned. It took me a minute to comprehend what I was looking at. Then when I saw the second email...I was just blown away...floored. WTF? Paul and I have always had weird connections with one another. I can be having the absolute worst day and he will call and say "what's wrong?". There are times when the mental connection scares the out of me. Today was one of those days.
Go ahead and think I am crazy for posting this. Seriously though...do any of you have crazy mental connections like that with any of your friends? I want to hear stories. I have tons more, but this one just made my day. :D

I can't say I have a connection on that level with anyone. There's isn't a soul alive that could connect with my way of thinking. :rolleyes: I have heard from some of my friends about this though. :) |

Sometimes crazy things like that happen. Whats even stranger about it is that my best friend Brian and his wife Cathy are in town visiting and had that same cd playing in his car when he came over on Sunday night. Thats what made me pull those records out and rip them. I saw the disc and said let me see that.

So...both of your best friends were listening to the same old mix from years ago...out of the blue? Weird. Especially considering I have tons of phat ass trance mixes of yours. That is a bit strange. Nostalgic.
Speaking of Brian and Cathy...I can't wait to see them! Good good times! We need to make them move back! :( |
