Just bought this CD comp today, sounds really nice :) A great change from Oakie's last few outings (boring as hell)... just wondering what you guy's thoughts are on it? Here is the tracklisting:

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but just by looking at the track listing, I'm annoyed. Now, I love Radiohead, and that song Idioteque is great, but I don't think that an Oakenfold mix cd is the place for it. He's always trying to be avant garde, inserting Dead Can Dance or whatnot into his mixes. Instead of impressing me with his diverse musical likings, he annoys me by ruining the flow of the CD. The Perfecto Fluoro cd is a perfect example, I'd get into the cd, and then some movie soundtrack would come on, and then a fade out into another techno song. He did similiar things on Another World. In fact, he does so many fade out mixes, that me and my friends now call any mix that either just fades out, or is a quick mix that mixes the boring end part of one song into the boring begining of the next song, a Paul Oakenfold mix.
Don't get me wrong, he's a great DJ and I love his music selection, I just think he should leave the experimentation for the free bonus cd that should be added, instead of making me pay for songs I'm just gonna skip by. |

Point well taken, I agree that the Radiohead song does seem very out of place in the mix... other than that, the CD is pretty good, and still better than his other recent outings
