This is just the beginning

Let's hope this wasn't a diversion.
How can those responsible not realize their days are numbered? How can the US not completely annihilate them?
Justice will come at the end of a very large bomb. I fear we have only seen the beginning of this.
Time to buck up, take a deep breath, and prepare ourselves for some very great sacrifices ahead.
It does cause us to re-evaluate our priorities, no? Material possessions seem a bit less important at times like these. |

this won't turn into a big war...im pretty sure of that...if a major country had been involved in the attack, then it prolly would...
but a)they were terrorists and b)even if they had state support, that state prolly isn't powerful enuff to withstand a US retaliation which rules out the possibility of a MAJOR war...
besides, we all here should seriously hope that nothing like that happens...because if we had a big war...all of us male TAs here in the US would be DRAFTED..(if above 18)...not good...same goes for all the other TAs...

The US will deal a big blow, but terrorism is far from being stopped. Its going to take many decades to truly start seeing an end to terrorism.
Just ask the director of the NSA, and expert on the middle east, they all agree no matter the US's reaction, terrorism is not going to end. Hopefully they will do enough damage that it will make it very difficult for further big attacks, but there just isn't any way to completely end terrorism. Just ask Israel, Spain, and Ireland.
Its sad but true, if a person is willing to die for a cause, how do you stop someone like that. A faceless terror with no name is impossible to stop, you don't know he's your enemy until its too late.
John F. Kennedy said exactly that, "How can you stop someone willing to die to take anothers life, its just not possible"
Remember these words, they have great meaning in this situation.
"You can kill people, but you can't kill an ideology" |

how can U guys be so sure this won't turn out to be a war? I mean, even if they were terorists, , mr. Bush wants to punish the country in which they live too... and U might look at Afghanistan as being such a week nation... U forget it outstood Rusia, and it has not left itself to be conquered. even if they don't have tehnology as impressive as the US they have determination.. for those familiar with the djihad it's easy to understand what I mean... and for sure they don't fear retaliation. because they started this. and Osama Bin Laden has a well-trained personal army... (for those who haven't read his profile, OBL has been trained by the CIA in security issues...)
so I think this should be analized, reanalized and then thought again... a response must and will be made. but not too fast, and not against the wrong people! |

hypronix, you spoke my mind :) Me and you agree 100% it seems.
Afghan fought of the modern army of Russia for 10 years! They even managed to kill over 10,000 well trained, well equiped soldiers.
The US has to be carefull in their reaction, bombing the wrong people, or going to far can be very dangerous.
The middle east can be volitile, and the US doesn't want to instigate a large scale war in the middle east, because it could expand much further and cause countless deaths.
We must think carefully before we act, and rash decision could make things much worse. |

and to add, some nations might jump and help Afghan if the US atacks in the area. but this isn't WW2. now the lands of the US aren't protected by water anymore. so fights can be as well given in the US, why middle-east? (hardly possible. yet, where did it start again?)
because US has many enemies. and they're just waitin' to come out!!! |
