the same ing thing he did against England...poor positioning, realises he's ed, so he dives on the ground trying to get a call. But this time, he didn't get it.
those Portuguese are cheating bastards....I'm SO glad they did not win. Greece, though they play boring football, deserved to win this purely based on effort. |

the star of the game was the referee...Markus Merk (or whatever). He did a great job of not bending over and letting the Portuguese swan divers screw him up the ass like Meier and Fisk.:D
Portugal couldn't dive their way to victory this time and it looks great on them! |

As the Portuguese said themselves 10 days ago - not good enough.
Greece were the better team and have beaten an overrated Portuguese side twice in three weeks. But they have also beaten France, the 'class' team of the tournament and reigning champions, and Czech Republic, the 'on form' team of the tournament. Portugal have played the same style in every game of this tournament and their play has become very predictable, and the Greeks certainly did their homework. The Greek defending was textbook. Ronaldo did his usual tricks but noone was falling for it, although he himself did a lot of falling. But the ultimate disgrace was Deco, diving at every opportunity and then campaigning vigorously at the referee, who was wise to it. Ricardo was to blame for the goal, he positioned himself poorly and put himself out of contention for the ball, as he did against England.
That Barcelona fan running after Figo was hilarious, and then jumping into the net. Fantastic. Spiced up the game and added to the tension as it disrupted the game with only a few minutes to go.
Greece haven't been the most electrifying team in this tournament, but they've been consistent, feared noone and I couldn't think of more worthy winners.
PS. I also notice that only two teams scored in all their games, Greece and England ;) |

what you mean only 2 teams?
a lot of teams scored goals in all their games..
i'd like to know why the referee ended the game with 4:30 mins of extra time when the 4rd referee extended the time to 5 mins..it was 30s of precious time we could have scored |
