I just wanted to find out what do u exactly call progressive trance
I thought Sunrise at Palamos by M.I.K.E was progressive , but a lot of trance addicts said it is not.
Could you define progressive trance , and give an example of hot progressive choons.:toocool:

Thanksz:D

Progressive to me is tunes that sound the same all the way through.

I wouldn't class Sunrise At Palamos as progressive it is a quality definition of a great chillin trance tune,

M.I.K.E does have a progressive feel to alot of his newer tunes but i think they will always have that trancy sound.

Nathan Fake Outhouse is a good example of progressive trance and alot of Airwaves production are too.

i think a lot of people consider

James Holden

progressive trance.

James Holden creates more of a "chilliout"sound .He mixes trance with chillout , and slows down the tunes` tempo

Then I love the cock.

Prog has a deeper, darker sound. Less of the big uplift that Trance has. More housey, as well. Really hard to define.

James Holden - A Break In The Clouds
Matthew Dekay - If I Could Fly
Underworld - Dark And Long (Dark Train Mix)
Yunus Güvenen - Euphrates

Those are a few of my favorite prog songs, if you want examples.

It has always amazed me why MIKE is considered progressive trance. His tracks are always 137-140 bpm and that is nowhere near progressive. He is the trance master. For me prog trance is more 130-135 bpm at most

For good prog trance listen to sets by Markus Schulz, Sasha, Ian ossia etc.

Check out tracks by Subsky, Probspot, Perry O'Neil, Shiloh, lemon8, Leama & Moor, Deepsky etc. There all class.

My favorite progressive mix CD is Chris Fortier's "Trance Nation America" on Engine in 2000. I never get tired of this mix.
