SO what DJ_science is saying is, if i poor liquid nitro on my manhood itl become super conductive!!!! This will free up the mojo energy in my body making women from all over the world make an anual migration to my bedroom. RIGTH?
DJ_Science
Um you can try...but somehow I doubt that your manhood is a superconductor. Wow knows though? Maybe your is the undiscovered room-temperature superconductor.

You would win a nobel prize if it was!

It certainly will be super conductive. The problem is that the babe will float nicely above it, leaving you with the only option of having your usual wank. But then if your not too careful, you will snap your dick off. I'd forget it.

I'd kill for the Nobel Peace Prize...

Isn't this called the Meissner effect or something?

Also, if you place the magnet on the superconducting material before it was cooled down and it become superconductive, wouldn't the magnet slowly start to lift off? I mean like the opposite effect of when it's loosing it's superconductive state?

Floating above eh? That gives me some ideas... The resistance could be used for some intersting things. Kinda like sex in space. ;)

My guess:

The black block is a plain old magnet.
The disc was a conductive metal disc that can be magnetized.
Magnets loose their power when warmed/heated up, and so in the opposite (cold) they become much more powerful.
He poured liquid nitrogen (many of us know it as liquid/dry ice because of its "steamy" quality). The liquid nitrogen colled that magnet into its most powerful form and allowed it to spread its magnetic field, allowing the metal disc to be held in the field.

When the magnet was taken out of the cold nitrogen, it began to warm up and so it cold no longer suspend the disc.

Hey, Mikado. How you gonna do it when shes stuck to the ceiling? If thats how good sex in space is, I'd rather have sex in the UK.

I am a chemist. The likely explanation is that liquid oxygen is being poured into the dish. It a paramagnetic compoud, there are unpaired electrons in the last molecular orbital. Anyways its a magnetic compound that is very dense at low temperature.

There are three likely posibilities from hear on in.
1. The metal in the dish isn't magnetic, they try to prove it to you by dropping the other magnet on it. Thus the liquid oxygen is the only magnetic thing thats interacting with the other magnet.

2. The poles of the magnet in the dish are switch when the oxygen is poured around it.

3. This one is cheating. They pour liquid nitogen in. The poles of the magnet in the dish aren't reversed. They switch the poles of the magnet thats out of the dish by that plate they touch it with. If that plate is connected to a battery then its easy.

This is on the web and we all know if its on the web its got to be true. Personally I'd go with number three but all of them are probably whats going on.

I've seen that in a live demonstration, quite impressive

For those who don't know they actually developped a train that is using this principle to displace itself..
