Review: NU-NRG @ Viva! (pg. 9)

I’d like to say that it was by far one of the best shows I have ever been to, and there are countless reasons why. First and foremost I’d like to thank Walter Rosati because he had the club jumping more than a lot of “high ranking” DJ’s I’ve seen (no disrespect to them intended). I don’t think that man can receive enough credit for his amazingly high-energy session. Not many people could open so perfectly for Nu-NRG, and going back over his performance on the drive home confirmed he is a DJ who truly knows his music as well as how to pump up the crowd. Major thanks for playing that wicked sweet Igor S track by the way! Although Rosati was simply the perfect build up to the incredible but short Nu-NRG set, my night was officially made complete after hearing TAKE YOU’RE AIR & CONNECTIVE!!!!! (Not to mention the other intensely amazing tracks they played). Thanks much also to the audience for cheers of encouragement as equipment trouble stunted the first few moments of their performance. That’s the kind of crowd I enjoy being at a club with! Not that those troublesome moments weren’t soon forgotten as Nu-NRG proceeded to blow up the club! There is seriously nothing quite like the energy those two give to the crowd. It was great to see them jamming just as hard as we all were! After Nu-NRG packed up and left Mark Oliver for some reason was nowhere to be found. The disappointment in Mark Oliver’s cancellation turned into yet another set from Walter Rosati who picked up the slack! Once again, MUCH respect to Mr. Rosati who didn’t seem to understand why I wanted his autograph.

The event was amazing, but it wouldn’t have been the same for me without Arecedo, Dubblies, BinarY_EclipsE, Tat girl, the crew we chilled with for the vast majority of the night/morning, and all the other addicts I met, you guys rock! Thanks too for having us over for a bit amb_ and the rest of you guys (we’re glad you liked our “American cigs” haha). The DJ's were godlike, the people were amazing, and the sound system was kicking…it was truly a show to remember.

OMG, what a weekend.....

Gonna try to keep this short.

Got to club at 12:10, and Dennis Hahn was playing an AMAZING set. Congrats! Loads of TA's in attendance eager for the moment we'd all been waiting for so long, and the club filled up quicker than last time. Then Rosatti continued the festivities ("Sosei" was the BOMB!!!). Met several new people too (thanks for the bracelet Melody, & nice to meet u, Kaika (sp?)).

Took position at the front at 3am, and soon after, Nu-NRG were on. Giuseppe spotted me in front & waved hi. Something went wrong with the equipment midway thru the intro, so they had to start over again, at a different point of the set. Not too far in, the long awaited tune gets dropped: TAKE YOUR AIR!!!!!!!!! OMG I DIE! (so did RJ, and probably every other TA in the room). Lost about 5 lbs in sweat during that tune. Several of the transitions didn't work out so well, but who gives a ? Nu-NRG was here, and that's all that mattered. Then went to the side of the stage to take shots from there, and "The Eternal" is dropped. OMG I CRY!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, the set didn't go into overtime as we had hoped, but they were kind enough to sign autographs and take pictures with everyone. Considering the amount of time it takes to set up & break down, you'd think they'd want to play a little longer? Jetted out of there real quick, as we have LOADS to do today (including picking someone up from the airport in 3 hrs).

Thanks to Vince for taking me in as your guest- congrats on winning the contest (u lucky bastard!). Thanks to Temporal Rhythm for bringing Nu-NRG to us after all our pleas. Thanks to Graham (u know why). Thanks to Arturo for helping my dream of hearing 'Take Your Air' live come true, and big thanks to Giuseppe and Andrea for the wonderful music you make us so happy with. We hope to see you again here soon.

Write more later- falling asleep at the keyboard.

I can now die happy.....

xoxo-

WOW!!! Where do I begin?!?! That party has been by far one of the best parties I’ve been in awhile. My first party was Destiny (WEMF 1998)and I've been partyin since but as most of you guys know that the music scene has suffered over the last couple of years and therefore I didn't attend many parties anymore. I was soooooo happy to see that the vibe is back!!! (or atleast at this party) The party crowd was amazing (although i do have to agree that most of the people there were of the asian decent) For my first experience at Viva nightclub it was wikkid! The sound and lighting effect can't be beat.

I loved all the people i met that night incl. Dennis Hahn and his group, Tatgirl and her crew, DJ AMPz and his gurl, and the girl (don't know ur name)at the front of the crowd that cheered on NU-NRG w/ me. Along w/ my little crew incl. Greg, James & my bf Rob. You guys totally made my night!

AMMMMAAAZZZIN' trance was spun by all the dj's!!! Nothin' can put on a smile on my face more than my favorite tunes being spun in an environment like that.

~~NU-NRG YOU GUYS KIK ASS!!!~~ I've been waiting for the day that they would come to Canada and they did an amazing set! I wish they could have done a longer set but i was more than satisfied w/ what they had done. I will be awaiting their next appearance hopefully sometime in the near future

Hope to party w/ everyone soon! Take care!!!
