It's good being a judge, it means that i have got 4 mixes and 2 of my own on MP3 in the car now!!!!!

There is a good array of styles here, good tracks, some superb mixing and phasing in.
There is also some not so great tracklists, one or two real area's of "off key" mixing where 2 melodies really clash, but, from what I have heard, the mixing quality is generally good.

As an early indicator, from 1-10 i would say the mixing is from 5 up to a solid 10!!!!

I have noticed that one thing is missing from tracklistings, I think I could do with knowing what Software was used and methods. I say this because some of the mixings are THAT good, I was wondering if a WAV editing system was used. Although this system is one hell of a good way of producing some absolutley brilliant results, it isn't how the rules stated the mixing should of been made.

I'm not saying that anyone at all has used this method and I don't think they have but - I as a judge - would love to know how you guys did it.

Hopefully in the future there will be a WAV editing mix comp, then I can enter as I dont have the sstem ability for 2 soundcards.

Top notch folks :)

Try PMing the people you mentioned. Or you can ask publically as the results are posted, so as not to seem rude to those of us not quite up to par, or still learning the trade. =)

I took each MP3 and applied a little bit of compression and eq BEFORE the mixing, since there aren't any realtime controls for that in PCDJ Red. I used PCDJ Red for the live mixing. Then I recorded using Nero Wave Editor (didn't edit anything post-mix though), and WinLAME for encoding.

You must've been fast mixing or uhm... the worst... using radio edit versions of the tunes.

It's good, really good, but i think talented people can easily mix like you, just live with real turntables and i don't think it's hard at all to mix like this using PCDJ software if you've got a good ear and some skills.

Uhm... tunes... i know a few, like uhm, Deep Dish - Flashdance (Original Mix), iiO - Rapture or what, Renato Cohen vs. that cat group - uhm... can't remember the title :D

I didn't think it was that good!!! Crikkey, that put a smile on my face!!!

Thing is, as I have ever only used turntables to mix once (not kidding, I had 1 hour on some 2 years ago!) every thing I have every mixed is using cut/paste/mix programs, mainly Magix.

I love making the mixes and plonking them in the car, but I didnt wanna enter the comp as this way isn't LIVE mixing.

Glad U liked though, twas only a dinky snipit, You got the tunes spot on too,

Any more wanna go for a guess, Deep Dish was in there, Cohen V's Deluxe "just kick". Anymore, my signature is a clue too ;)
