| What's the meaning behind this? Mainly because I would rather buy the vinyl of what's released there. |

| It's mainly because some people would rather not buy the vinyl. |

| Well the least they can do is give us both options. |

Some of the stuff which is there as a special downloads i.e. Dubs of No One On Earth for example will only be download only as they would have to get a further vinyl pressed for dubs only. It doesn't make wise business sense.
Same with John O'Callaghan remix of Day One. Pointless to issue a repress of Day One to include the remix, hence why the digital was created. So stuff which isn't good enough to get pressed onto vinyl but good enough to offer it for download.
But personally i have no qualms with it, just get a CDJ and fire up the tracks onto CDR |

But if it isn't good enough to get pressed then why should we want it at all? |

all about giving people options
the dub of No One On Earth was never going to get pressed, so if people wanted it they had the option of downloading it |

| exactly, whats the point of having a vinyl pressed even to 500 copies when anjuna know OR expect that all the copies wont sell- makes no sense to have them lose money. offering it for download its a 'lose nothing' situation. if one person buys it, then its a win. the point is.. if the anjunadigital service didn't exist, they still wouldnt press the vinyls of the tracks that are exclusively for download (i.e. dubs of 'no one on earth'). Anjuna digital is only a good thing for that reason- plus it caters for any CD dj's, people who just want 1 mix of a tune (saves them money), people who only listen to music on their computer etc etc. |

| Wel i live in Bahrain and there's no shops here for me to buy the vinyl and this way i can get the stuff really fast and without paying lots for delivery! |

| I suppose it makes sense. Looks like I should invest in a cd turntable now. Those things are sweet. |

Just to add to the above, it's clear that digital is here to stay as a music distribution channel so we felt it was important to offer a legal download source for our music. Vinyl isn't going anywhere either but it's not practical to release everything on vinyl as we just don't have time or room in our release schedule, plus there are plenty of non-DJ’s who want to buy dance music. We do some digital-only releases for this reason, and also because the strong digital-only content obviously helps raise awareness of the service.
Just to clarify though, it's not right to say that inferior stuff ends up as digital-only material. There should be no drop in quality at all compared with the stuff we put out on vinyl and hopefully the stuff we've released on AnjunaDigital so far is testament to that - there's the Aspekt mix of Smith & Pledger ‘Forever’ which has been in Markus Schulz’s top 10 for many weeks, the Mark Norman mix has been supported by all and sundry including Armin, plus the Gabriel & Dresden Dub of Above & Beyond ‘No One On Earth', which Paul Van Dyk has been playing in all his gigs. We’re also in the process of signing some very strong new material which we should have more news about soon.
Anyway, hope that sheds some light on the thinking behind it. We’ll give away a free download of the Gabriel & Dresden Dub to the first 5 people who reply to a new thread I’ll start now in the Music Discussion Forum.
Cheers,
James
