Well, the latest trance doesn't differ that much from pop-music.

WOHAA! This is where i interfear :p
Hmm....I do NOT agree with you there.....in that case its the other way around...the Pop music are growing to sound more and more like electronic music.....They redo the vocals so they sound computer-like and they also add som Trancy-effects to most of the new Pop trax...
Just listen to Daddy DJ....that sounds like a serious attemp to make a trance track but it never went trought cause it got so chessey...

What do U think`?

Peace! :)

Though I don't listen too much pop/rock at all these days here are a couple old favorites... can't say I'm a big fan of the genre though.

Rock-ish
Radiohead - Creep
Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Rolling Stones - Paint it Black
Cake - Distance

Slower
Depeche Mode - Somebody (This song can still make me cry)
Garbage - The Trick is to Keep Breathing
Ben Folds Five - Brick
Morrisey - The More You Ignore Me
Portishead - Sourtimes
