^^ LOL
I haven't watched Jeopardy in a LONG ass time. That's interesting to see a 23-day champion. |
|

Very impressive, yet it's nearly impossible to say he would hold said records. Over the last 15 years of the show one person could not have had as long / longer streaks as contestants could only be on for a MAXimum of 5 days (at which if you did) you would be in the year end Champions touney and get a new rig as well). Also, only about 3-4 years ago did they finally double the $$$ amounts on the board as it began to lag behind inflation...winning 10 grand on a show wasn't impressive anymore...especially when Spin the Wheel was giving out 10 times as much to a tow truck driver from Tex-Arkana for having little trivia knowledge at all.
GO KEN! |

Yea I remember the 5-day thing...
I also remember when the first round went from $100-500 & double jeopardy went from $200-1000.
Oh well, even still... I dont know how many of those people would be able to hold a streak of 24 straight. |

so while he is good at memorizing, he still has more to prove if he wants me to say he is smart....which I am sure he wants me to do. |
It isn't a good measure because its not direct. But it is reasonable to assume that he didn't get all that general knowledge by memorising an encyclopedia, and that all those facts are in fact indicative of a huge amount of reading on a broad range of topics - and having enough of an interest in those topics to actually commit some of the facts to long term memory. That to me would suggest that he is probably quite intelligent. Although it is by no means a guarantee. The only way to tell if someone is really intelligent is to talk to them and get to know them. |

| They should just make the categories along the lines of Micro Brews, Vodkas, Sports Trivia, etc ... |
|

| Vlad |
One day I want the categories to look like this...
Round 1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Paul van Dyk | Record Labels | ASOT XXL | The Residents | Ibiza |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Global Underground | Essential Mixes | M.I.K.E. Aliases | The Unreleased | Mayday |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Jeopardy

A little off topic? But seriously Jeopardy is way better, a nice way to prove your knowledge compared to Wheel of Fortune where you just guess letters and words. |
