You know the good 'ol Command Prompt in Win2k/XP/2k3 ?
It bothers me that I can't skin it, make it transparent or have a pic as it's background...in the way Linux allows transparency and a background pic to it's Shell Konsole.
Are there any command prompt replacements available out there which might let me do it all? If so, links...please :) |

You spend too much time on your PC if you are worried about skinning your command prompt.
IMO. |

I said I want it Linux style, transparent and all. If I make other windows transparent, then why not the command prompt too?
And how does that relate with me spending too much time on my PC? Your opinion is wrong  |

Opinions can't be wrong.
That's why they are opinions, and not facts. |

Well be a bit more specific (sidenote: I saw somebody say Pacific during a flamewar on another forum....always check your spelling when flaming!).
Are you using XP, 2K or 2k3?
edit: people need to stop taking the piss out of other peoples threads, if it doesn't interest you then off and reply to something else. |

Ah, the first sensible answer :) To answer your question, I'm using 2k3 Server enterprise. The only reason I said "2k/Xp/2k3" is that all these 3 OSes are built around the same Win32 kernel, each scalable as per their respective "Editions" (Home/Professional/Enterprise) and for the most part, simple transparency utilities that work on XP also work on Win2k/Win2k3.
Now, my requirement is rather simple, but I guess nobody has (probably) attempted to skin/add transparency options to the often used Command Prompt shell in Windows. All I want is to be able to make the console Transparent or skin it as is possible in Linux.
And because of that I ask, does anybody know of any alternative/replacement for the command shell? |
