hi, i am tutoring someone tomorrow for the first time
he is in 9th grade, learning geometry and english..
can anyone recommend me any good books?
he never learned any geometry before.
and for english, looking for good vocab building/ reading comprehension books

if he has books already, use that to teach him how to solve problems.
books usually suck ass at teaching...the best teacher is experience...so use whatever skills/experience you have in those subjects to help him out with whatever he has trouble with. |

| Go tru his homework and help him out. If you want to get a book you could start with an SAT or other standardized test prep book. As far as english goes get a sample of his writing and give him tips. |

stk, look for a teacher you like and ask for tips on what his/her favourite books are. Then try to use them with the student. Also, if you've got your old books, use them, as probably are used to them.
As for his English, igottaknow gave a good idea. Is he learning English as a foreign language?
