There is a certain name you have for the vocal sound many songs use just before the vocals actually begin, it sounds like the first note used by the vocals and it sounds like vocals- does anyone know what the term for it is and what instrument i can get that uses this sound?
Does fruityloops use this sound and how?
cubase sx?
reason 2.5?

thankyou
broken silence
i think i know what you're talking about..its not an instrument though.

chop the first word in the vocals- add alot of reverb. then take the new reverbed sample, chop it so that only the reverb is left. then take the reverb, and reverse it.
serp
yep it's reverse reverb, there is a plugin that you can use to do that, i think its a cubase plugin i can't remember for sure, have a search around
Sebraa
or convert vocal riff to REX file and open in Dr.REX and all that effect work. Don't know is this what you really want but it another way to chop vocal and sync with tempo :D sorry if offtopic

Hey guys, I've got a question about vocals too. If you have a vocal sample, like a fragment from a certain movie, but there is a certain noise in it you want to remove, is it possible? I'm not talking about filtering away certain frequencies with an equaliser, for that will also filter away a part of the vocal you want to use.
How can I do this?? :conf:

(for example: a guy is talking, but a car drives by and you want to remove the noise the car makes. Both sounds partly occupy the same frequencies.)

it's almost impossible..
Derosas
If, and only if, the sound of the car is not as loud as the person, use a noise gate and set it high enough to cut out the car but not the person.
Sebraa
you can test it on your project, because some sounds are in background (effects for example) and the car sounds is not heared.
Sorry for bad english ;) Gate idea is good too Derosas

there is no perfect solution, test and have little luck and everything must work

another vocal question -> Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix) -> crazy vocals there. gated? reversed? any idea ... TIA
Tom_cowan
i know you can get a reverse reverb effect by putting it into a sound editor, cool edit or whatever, then reversing the sample, adding reverb, then reversing again. But hats a pain in the arse to do, im lazy. Is there a plugin for it? If there is how the does it work becuase you need the info on the wave before it is even played if you see what i mean. Only way i can think it works is by haveing loads of lag. Am i right?
Stephano
Noise gate... never tried that one out before. Thanx for your help ;)

Angel
