as a matter of fact, it does - Save to a new folder option. it is great when someone disses the program for not having an option which is there .....

The same thing happened to my project file 5 minutes ago. I cannot open my project file anymore.

I am really pissed off

Thanks for telling this. Autosave was disabled but I enabled it now. ;)
hey cheggy
Okay, well after a long time today trying to reconstruct the song and realising its probably never going to be the same again, I decided to try and open the .cpr file in Nuendo. It worked, so I am going to try and save another copy and open it back in Cubase as Nuendo is not mine to use. I might be saved. Timothy, if it works, I can try doing the same with your file for you, I'll let you know.

--- edit ---

okay, that didn't work as well as I might have liked. My computer dies again, but all hope is not lost, at least now I have my melodies back and my VSTi and fx settings back, so I can export each channel to audio and start from there. I guess at least this will free up some CPU space on this project.

I wasn't dissing it - I've only recently started using Cubase and
haven't spent enough time on it to find these things out. So does it then save everything in your project to a new folder (including Audio)? Thats pretty cool if it does - I'll have to take a look when I get home.

Thanks for correcting me anyway.

remember that to use Nuendo Projects in Cubase, simply rename the Nuendo project file to Cubase project file ;)

This happened to me before. Yes, its horrible. Also, id be careful with the autosave function. I have heard before that they had some issues with it working properly. What version of cubase are you using? I don't use autosave function myself, but save manually.
hey cheggy
Cubase SX version 1.01. I'm not using autosave, I'm just saving as each time I save rather than just normal save so that I always have a backup copy.

Hey you consider doing an update? Many buggy issues that I had in the beginning were pretty much gone after updating to 1.06.

Yup... I feel ya, mate... But at the same time I hate to say it - that's why logic is so expensive and why pros use Macs. I doubt this kind of crap happens too often on the Mac/Logic combo (or protools for that matter). Cubase is a fine tool just a bit unfinished on all versions 1.x 2.x or any subsequent versions.
