Ive been thinking about going on a cruise with some friends. Just curious whos been on one and if you had fun and would recommend it. I dont want to spend too much on a cruise, probably like a 4 day and somewhere in the Caribbean. Those who have been on one, how much did it run you.

I went on an eight day cruise to the Mexican Riveria (Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas) when I was living in Southern California. It was good fun. The ship itself can be boring if your not into drinking, gambling, or hot tubbing, or good eats. Usually the crowd is mostly older folks...or younger kids with their older folk parents. not too many swinging 20's on the cruise I went on.

But the ship will hook you up with cool things to do when you get to a port of call. Like we did Horesback riding, jet skiing, atv'ing, snorkling, etc...oh yeah pharmacia mexicana hehehehe

Definitely a fun experience...especially since the ex-gf footed the bill and had to deal with my 700$ drinking tab. That was the week I discovered Grey Goose apple martinis. Nothing but the best for me, especially when I'm not paying. Cause the ship we went on was a no cash ship. Which means you give a credit card or wads of cash and they hook you up with a ship credit card you use everywhere...teehehe...wasn't tied to mah credito card

But as long as you got some good mates with you, you'll have a great time and see some new places. Go fer it dude~

I went on the P & O Pacific Sky "Schoolies Cruise" in the South Pacific at the end of 2002 and it was the best time of my life!. "Schoolies" is what we call Spring Break - it is to celebrate the end of high school.

The whole cruise ship had only 18-19 year olds on it, so it was PARTY TIME! The cruise cost around AU$1400 for nine nights, and then i spent another $500 on alcohol only. :D :D :D Although this might seem expensive, it was great value and it was definitely worth it.

The food was ridiculously good! Three/four course meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it was included in the price and it was delicious.

We got to go to some really cool islands overseas:

- Noumea, New Caledonia (not bad, can buy some cheap alcohol and BB guns to smuggle back onboard)

- Mystery Island, Vanuatu (pretty cool little island for chilling with friends, going for a swim, snorkelling)

- Isle of Pines, New Caledonia (OMG this is one of the most beautiful places i have ever seen. The most beautiful, fine, white sand, clear blue water, cool snorkelling and also a cliff about 13/14m high to jump off. Awesome island!!!!)

The island day-trips were awesome, one of the highlights of the trip.

The actual cruise ship is huge, with casino, several bars, theatre, three swimming pools, big decks for sunbaking in lounge chairs, gym, 24-hour pizza parlour (so good, you must know what i'm talking about Cam), ice-cream parlour, three restaurants, gift shops, sports bar etc etc

The cabins weren't really that flashy, but who cares? we barely spent any time in them anyway.

Every night was a (drunken) blast....drinks are very cheap......cocktails are the schiznit on the cruise, only about $4 i think, for awesome cocktails. It really was the best time ever.

At night they had open-air club on the back deck, with a big dance floor under the stars and the DJ outside.

There was also Pjama nights, tropical nights and the funniest one was cross dress night!! hahah i have some SHOCKING photos of me and my mates drunken in drag! hahah everyone did the whole things... makeup the works!

All i can say is that cruises rock! Go for sure!

I went on one a couple years ago and to tell you the truth it kinda sucked. We went to the virgin islands. Which was cool. The ship was older and there was mostely older people on it and not many people my age.

We first take off some guy has a heart attack and ends up dying, we had to turn around. Then when we wake up the next morning i look out side all water but we wernt moving. We had blown an engine cause we tried to hightail it back from the delay. Some other guy died too but i don't know what happend.

Went on an 11 day cruise for my honeymoon around the Hawaiian islands. It was fun but there are a few things I would like to point out. First, we got married late in the year, October, so when we got on the boat, it was a floating nursing home. There were only a handful of young people. So take note of when you go and ask about the particular boat you will be on and what kind of reputation it has. Some boats are just known for having young and crazy people on them. Secondly, 11 days is WAY too long for a cruise IMO. By the 8th day, I was ready to go back home. Luckily they had a casino on board that kept me busy. Overall a good experience.

I went on the Royal Caribean. The cruise ship is absolutely gorgeous. Not enough that I can say about it. The price was shockingly cheap for the 8 day trip, I paid less than $900 bucks and that's in Canadian dollars!!!

However I would not recommend it simply because the crowd was mostly older and rich folks. There were some younger people but they were were just children. There was one night where they had a singles night at one of their bars, so I thought I would check it out. My room attendant kept pestering me if "I got lucky yet", and I'm like no....so I needed to be there FAST!!

Went to the singles night, and all I saw were people in their 30s and 40s dancing. The DJ were spinning tunes from the 60s and disco music like Super Freak, I Will Survive..... I'm like WTF??

8 freaking days on one of the most gorgeous ships I've ever seen and NO SEX!!!!:whip: :whip: :whip:

As for the trip itself, went to Jamaica, Labardee in Haiti, Cozumel, and Cayman Islands.

OMG, Cayman Islands has got to be the most gorgeous place I've ever seen. I strongly recommend that you check it out. Miles and miles of white sand and crystal clear blue water. No wonder it was rated one of the top beaches in the world. Cayman Islands is also home to about 500+ offshore banks and financial institutions (where all the dirty money is). Just a beautiful place.

When I was in Labardee I almost died there. I was just relaxing enjoying the calm and the paradise setting, however this was in shark infested water and there was a huge danger sign posted. I was really just enjoying my time when I didn't realize how far i've already swam offshore. I swam for what seems like hours and then finally when I looked back, I couldn't see the shore and where eveyone was. I was in the middle of the freaking ocean!!! it finally hit me because all of a sudden the currents were insane! I kept getting pulled under, the tides were so strong that I kept getting bounced around all this out of nowhere. I really thought I was going to drown and die right there and then.

It's amazing how many things go through your head when you know that you're about to die. I thought about my family. I also kept thinking about an ex girlfriend of mine and how much I loved her still and how I screwed it up.

I used everything I had and really had to fight the waves. It took everything out of me to finally be able to swim to shore again. I almost fainted from exhaustion once I landed on shore. My brother was asking me where the was I? I didn't even tell him what happened.

guess there's a moral here. Even when you're in paradise, always be aware of your surroundings. You never know where'd you end up when you're not paying attention.
