I wish I had some cool CD compilation that I bought that got me into trance...
Unfortunately for me it was the Hackers Soundtrack that introduced me to the type of music. I bought it for the Orbital song.
Robert Miles -- Dreamland (whatever happened to that guy anyway?) was the first Trance CD I bought. Brings back memories just thinking about it! |

John 00 Flemming - The Best Trance anthems ever
Yeah every one of these all time compilation things has the same tracks in it, but he picked some really old ones to put in there as well, like Stella, wheeee and remixed em all, w00t w00t
I hate that word anthem, argh |

Slipstream, mixed by J Scott Blum of Deepsky.
One of my first compilation purchases, and an immortal piece of driving progressive trance. |

Ministry of Sound - Clubbers Guide to Trance (Mixed by ATB)
Up until I heard this CD, I liked a few trance songs, but didn't have a concept of what a trance DJ mix compilation was. After that point, there was no turning back.
And of course, Oakenfold's Tranceport. |

Oh, don't get me wrong -- I LOVE the Orbital track - it's my alltime favorite.
The soundtrack really isn't that bad, either.
It's just the movie, although I like it in a "I remember when..." sort of way, was a disgrace to the hacker culture back then. |

| Hmm.. compilations have never been that special to me but one that brings me good memories from way back is PvD's X-Mix 1: The MFS Trip from 1992 or was it 1993. |
