Starting Windows XP in safe mode?????

Im trying to fix this stupid about:blank problem and i need to start my computer in safe mode, but when i press F8 when booting up I dont get the option for safe mode, can anyone help out????

Linux. windows is very stupid. but, the simplest way to do it, is to shut off the power while Win XP is loading. It'll be like wtf on next reboot and take u to an option to boot from safe mode. And for the about:blank problem, i take it that you've found the .dll's that this thing is creating?

Rubbish advice, spes when all it takes to get safe mode is press F8 once the system has posted.

Powering down while the system is loading could result in data corruption to the harddrive, sensible advice mate!
