Ok this is what I think and I want your opinions.
I think that the Us are planning an attack and it will hit Afghanistan within three days. I think this will be an short war with a sad ending for Afghanistan. I think that is just the beginning and Irak will follow Afganistan. They are going to be dabgerous, coz they support Afghanistan. It doesn't scares me now,because of the distence between Holland and Afghanistan, but I think this will be a nasty battle. |

| I think it will be a short battel, but not as short as many think. Even though we did have that famous '4 day invasion and takeover' with VERY little casualties, this is gonna be different because the Afghani's are gonna fight back and fight back hard....plus they have the land advantage, being it will be hard for us to invade by foot considering the milage between the border and the capital, etc......I just hope pakistan will still allow us to use their airspace to our advantage....anyways, it wont be too long a war (considerning NATO is also backing us up still)...well im out, later:D |

| I sure hope there isnt a war..cuz I read today that if pakistan lets teh US use its airspace, then Afghanistan will attack Pakistan, and that would be NO GOOD. |

Yes that is just what I mean. This whole battle is gonna be big, coz Afghanistan will attack Pakistan and the US. Irak will help Afghanistan. And what have these country's? Irak has maybe nuclear bombs and Pakistan too. That scares the out of me. |

OK, this is what I figure is going to happen. We are going to have a conventional war which we will win, but then Afghanistan will attack Pakistan too. This is when I think the war will either be dragged out or go nuclear. If we completely destroy Afghanistan, which we will, I'm not sure if Iraq will enter the war.
Their noses are still bloody from then last time.
It just comes down to how desisive we can beat the Talibon. That will make a statement to world not to mess with us.

Anyway i was looking into this whole mess and i found this article about Usa's arsenal....seems like they have been loading up since the cold war. Can hardly belive some of these weapons...well im off to bed, check it out.

dont be so sure about the shoet battle
the afganies people are very well trained garila wariors (trained by the U,S BTW)
and this war can drag and drag if more arab countries dicide to join,
so i wish to god that the battle will be short with a small nu' of casualties.

woooahhh there.... hold you horses... conventional war agiants afgan is not a good thing, remember these guys dont fight conventionaly. you will end up with another vietnam on your hands. dont forget afgan beat russian during the peak of the cold war when the red army was at its strongest. the taliban will fight by guerilla warfare. the best method agianst this is a stragic war: air strikes, cruise missle, commando teams (delta force and seals), intellegence. planned out stragic raids, not a war. |

Pakistan has nukes, that's confirmed.
Btw, does anybody know if the military will be using this weapon shown on the page Phrozen posted (cause if they are the war won't last very long):
Elite soldiers will carry a new two-barrelled rifle called the objective individual combat weapon, which can even wipe out opponents hidden in trenches or behind vehicles. The lower barrel fires Nato-standard 5.56mm ammunition allowing commandos to use bullets off the bodies of downed allies. But the upper barrel can hurl 20mm shells more than half a mile to explode in the air over the target and unleash a rain of death. The sight at the top of the rifle is an advanced laser guidance system that sets where the shells will explode for maximum damage.
The US Special Forces who carry the gun will also be equipped with the hi-tech Land Warrior system. Their helmet visors include a sophisticated computer display that adjusts to light levels and uses infra-red for night vision, plus a targeting system which highlights friendly troops in green and enemies in red. Satellite-enabled voice messaging in the helmet allows a commando to speak in a whisper and be heard by any other member of the attack force. |

That gun that the solider is carrying looks like something out of starship troopers
I hope that if there ends up being a war it is short because I am 16 and when you turn 18 you have to register for the draft and thats something im not too happy about |
