I can't stand girly drinks like Malibu, Bacardi Twist, Smirnoff Ice...or flavored liqors...stuff is nasty.
I forgot to add Jack Daniels...thats a classic.

I heard Grey Goose was supposed to be the best Vodka...is it better than Smirnoff?

The reason Grey Goose, kettel one, etc are "better" vodkas is because they have gone through better refinement processes to remove impurities. They are smoother, milder, and leave less of a hangover.
Vodkas arent really supposed to have any flavor at all, at least not in the US. The US bylaw regarding it is someting along the lines of a "flavorless, colorless, odorless drink falling between 40% and 65% alcohol".
Of course, anyone who drinks vodka regularly finds this definition absurd. Vodka has an incredibly delicate taste to it and each maker leaves their particular signature within the colorless swirls of the bottle. The aroma of vodka can have some startling contrasts as well, from sweet to earthy.
I wouldnt say Grey Goose et al are the best tasting however, like I said, their smooth mellow flavor and clean purity are very desirable. |

Now I know where I heard it, it's a Grey Goose ad... LOL But it has a list of the world's best Vodkas as rated by some international comittee (theres a job Orb :wtf: )... Grey Goose got #1 followed by all these Russian vodkas I have never heard of...Absolut was like #42, Smirnoff was in the teens. Eristoff wasn't even in the top 50 :haha:
The other day we bought a 750cl bottle of "Minkova" vodka...it tasted like Jet fuel...
