i just want to know the general idea of how u advance ur set when u play in a night club since i never did
i mean how do u start and do u keep same intensity in the middle and then drop down by the end of a set or u switch hi with lo intensity tracks |

It all really depends on the crowd.
One of your skills as a DJ is to read them. |

also what slot you are in... opening, mid, closing, etc... your set should vary for each unique headliner...
however if you are the one headlining then theres no rules... |

| and dont forget the croud will only remember the last 2 songs you just played so changeing intensity/direction can be done pretty fast. |

| iv played all 3 for about 400 peoples, anyways heres the deal, the one up i did was i was comeing on after a hip-hop dj near the end of the night, so i let his record play out then i put on my brand new g&d prog track, bad idea dont make massive jumps like that it just kills the floor |

Yea but going on after a hip-hop DJ...there is no other *good* way to transfer to progressive/trance. Your gonna clear the floor no matter what, but you'll get your crowd that wants to hear you come on. |

What about mixing on Drum N Bass then goto Breaks and then onto Trance, I think you could make it work. |

Yeah, vocal breakbeat stuff would probably smoothen the transition. |

| true, transitioning that way will sound better no doubt, but the fools who listen to -hop are still gonna leave anyways when you change up and go into electronic. |

wErd... :happy2:
I think it would be a bit weird to be asked to spin (when you spin trance) in a club that obviously has a hiphop crowd in attendence... The promoter or club owner must be smoking something to ask an Electronica DJ to spin after a HipHop DJ... or even worse to spin in a HipHop oriented club... |
