overdose?

Sigh. This isn't fun anymore; I think I have experienced uplifting trance-overdose. That is, all tunes start to sound the same, none of them really gets me going anymore. I usually notice this when I'm creating audio-cd compilations for my friends... it's really hard to find good tracks with enough variety and uniqueness. I find this situation quite funny since when I heard my first trance-tunes many years ago they all sounded very similiar...
Hard trance & house sound a lot better than they used to.
Have you undergone the same process or are you die-hard-uplifting-trance-fanatic like I used to be?
Nevertheless, there are still many uplifting tracks I like but most of them are old. |

| I have had that too. All the songs are the same. You don't like it anymore. I had a few months back. When i was gone you know on holiday. But the feeling came back and now I like it all. Hardhouse and techno are also great. I listened it lately more often and realise there are also other styles I like so maybe get out or try some new styles and stuff |

I've felt that way with psytrance - after awhile it DOES start sounding the same. Back in 95 when it first erupted, everything sounded different, but this happened with techno as well. Plus, what is it that defines house but the same "4 on the floor" beat?
A lot of trance coming out today I consider nothing but cheese trance. I mean, it sounds like they used a lot of the presets on the synths without even bothering to change it any. It's getting to the point where you really have to look to find those tunes that stand out. For every 1 great track, you've got 20 that sound alike and are garbage.
I dig trance, but don't limit yourselves by sticking to it and nothing else. There's lots of great tunes out there to enjoy and get into. |
