Well fellow TrancEaddicts, I finally made the plunge. I bought my first street bike today and am full of energy. I am now 1300 dollars lighter but have a 1990 Ninja ZX600C. I just now need to arrange a time to pick it up. Waiting is going to kill me! I am so very very anxious

I don't know anything about bikes, but it looks cool. I really want one, but I managed to nearly kill myself on a scooter at 5mph so it's probably not the best idea.

Just a helmet?! I plan on wearing gloves, helmet, leather jacket and armored pants. Not taking any chances. Already had 2 people from my highschool die on bikes. Although both of them were immature on them. Both were estimated at going between 120-140 before they hit the sand.
I have about 4 years dirt biking experience and took the bike course. I think Im well prepare. And cant forget Orbax! He helped me thoughout my ordeal on choosing my first bike. Thanks again buddy! |

I'm happy that you are taking such precautions. I knew three people that passed away just last year alone from motorcylce accidents. None of them were wearing helmets. Two of them hit the pavement with their head and it was the cause of death. I'm not saying that a helmet would have definitely saved their lives, but you just never know. The other is questionable if he would have survived because his injuries were that bad.
My ex boyfriend from years ago (a good ex whom I still adore) had a car pull out in front of him after running a light. He hit the car and flew over it and landed head first onto the pavement. The impact split the helmet he was wearing in half. He suffered injuries, but had he not been wearing that helmet he would probably be deceased now. |
