How the hell you fit 40 tunes on a mix album of 80 min?
I am used to approx. 6-6.5 min, and that for me is average |

Some leftfield label did a mix CD with 75 tracks in 80 mins for a CD but it was more turntablism
Coldcut did a mix CD (probably the greatest ever) 35 tracks in 71 mins. It was more turntablism |

In light of # of tracks on a CD, please consider this name:
Bad Boy Bill
(and yes the Richie Hawtin example was a gem too)
and you can get the Sugababes on the new DJ Hyper - Wired mix album too ;) |

I like Trance Nation 2004. Some of the mixing's a little off, but the track selection is pretty good. But yeah they have gone way downhill. |

| Coldcut pulled off their 2 mins a track CD brilliantly!! But for worst CD i'd imagine it'd be a Judge Jules CD! But I can't say with any conviction because I only buy the good stuff! :D |

| I remember it was Andy Votel's 75 tracks in 80 mins on his own label CD release |

Cramming a lot of tracks together onto a CD takes a lot of talent to pull off. I mean Richie Hawtin put over 120 tracks togther in his 60 minute "Closer to the Edit" compilation and that's probably one of the best compilations of all time (definitely one of my faves anyway).
But yeah. I think two minute minxing works better with techno than trance. :-/ |
lol it works even better for house music. i do it all the time because it's so boring that i have to keep mixing loads of songs just to stay awake |
