Newbie Hello! :)

Hello TOTA!

THIS is the place I've been looking to join! I've been a Trance lover since the year 2000. Started off SOMEHOW obtaining Progression Sessions by DJ Hardware, and slowly stemmed out from there (Tiesto). Before that, I was into the electronic stuff (Fluke, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, etc.) Now I'm just purely into Trance (listening to Tiesto's Cream @ Amnesia from, I believe, 2003, track is Solar Stone's Solarcoaster, at the moment, while in the office).

So anyways, these past few years I've only went to Tonic or Inside twice each. Not my kind of music (R'n'B, Hip-Hop, Rap, commercial dance). GF is into this kind of "club" so as all of my other friends who go out clubbing.

Back in 2000 and 2001 I did follow friends to Drop Zone (partial basement of Pacific Mall) and Viva. I want to go back to a TRANCE party... it's been too long... I have the itch! :)

I read about NU-NRG and saw the video; pretty awesome stuff! Too bad I knew nothing about it.

I'm mainly a Tiesto listener, including stuff he mixes of course. What good parties/clubs/nights are there coming up? I looked into System Soundbar for this coming Friday night; James Lavelle (I believe)... no idea what he spins.

... and yes I've dropped and sniffed before... :clown: BUT I seriously do get a natural high from tracks that I like (ie. at one point in time, hearing Sandstorm did send the good kind of cold chill down my neck and back, literally). And I see lightshows are no longer welcomed now? I use to love them when I was high... they were nice. But if they're out of place now, I don't want to welcome trouble. :)

Thanks everyone who can help me out :)

I'm not good at differentiating the different types of Trance but I believe I'm into progressive and HARD Trance...

Binary Finary - 1999 (Matt Darey Remix)
Das Licht - Take Off
DJ Tiesto - too many to list :)
ok two off the top of my head;

Mauro Picotto - Komodo (classic?)
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto mix of course)
Paul Van Dyk - We're Alive
Riva - Stringer
Signum - Second Wave, Solar Level
System F - Out of the Blue (classic)
Three Drives - Sunset in Ibiza, Air Traffic

Thanks, Provitex and starsearcher. I've been reading the "Who Hates Guvernment" thread while awaiting my authorization to post here. :)

I hate those kind of people that ruin a whole night too, but life balances out, gotta take some to get some.

Godskitchen? Wow I thought that was only in Europe! I'm so out of the scene (never was in it to begin with). :D

Looks like I made a new friend in DJ El Kay Dee :)
Thanks tho and newr too!
I'm still unsure of where to go for a fun night of Trance. One friend recommended System Soundbar on Friday nights, another friend Guv on Saturday nights. Guess I have to read more threads here... I think I've spent only two hours total reading messages in this forum (the Toronto section anyways). :)

Welcome to TOTA! Ready to have some fun?

You like trance, eh???

Well, you're in luck. Ultra Spin 5 is in less than 2 weeks. I'm sure you're familiar with Marco V, Push, Astral Projection and so on... But it is at the Guv (Kool Haus to be exact).

However, since some of the DJs are psy-trancey and stuff, the crowd should be decent. I remember when Infected Mushroom, Rank 1 and Gabriel & Dresden were here in Jan, amazing show and the crowd was good, all the hardcore trancers from back in the day :D

Oh yeah, welcome to TOTA!!!

Thanks Callie5 and Chinaman (I'm a Chinaman too) :)

I'll look into Ultra Spin 5, thanks!

I'm thinking about this coming Friday, James Lavelle at System. Since I'm a newb I know no one here and no one knows how I look... but I'd prefer to stick with TOTA members for the night since it'd probably be just my gf and me there (none of our friends are Trance-types). :(
