What is the 45 adapter for?
(the metal ring on the corner of my Technics 1200)

old 45 records had huge holes that would fit around it.

its for old juke box records.

all jukeboxes had large holes so the adapter was so people could use them.

(mind you i think jukeboxes only used 45rpm records anyway)
TranceMuzik02
lots of old 7" records have them

thats the size of record you would get in a jukebox

yeah, its doubtful if you will ever use that 45 adapter unless you go and raid your parents old records. ive come across 1 or 2 7" dance records, but never bought any. very very rare, and ive never seen anything good ever put out on 7"
opianstate
I had a 45 with a normal size hole :conf: :conf:

I don't think that records requiring that adaptor are extensively in use anymore . . .

When I saw DJ cool Herc he was using loads of old 70's funk 7" and he was using this all the time.

Cheers

lots of reggae/dub djs use 7"s still
Smack the 45 adapter on a normal 7" single (without the cutout) to add a bit of weight and stop them slipping excessively on the mat....
