I went without a CD player in my car for almost a year, but that all changed this week. (I've been using my IRiver 512MB IFP-95 and a tape-deck adapter to listen to sets and stuff on long trips.)
My 1995 Camry, which is in pristine condition and sitting at 86k miles, is now the home of a Kenwood CD/MP3/WMA deck with HD radio and Sirius Satellite capability. 50W x 4, two pre-outs, removeable face, remote control, and a complete equalizer menu with several presets. I got it at Best Buy and had it installed Monday afternoon.
I also went ahead and grabbed a set of 220W Pioneer 6x9" speakers for the rear deck, and a set of 160W Pioneer 6.5" speakers for the doors. The front RMS is 30W. The rear RMS is 40W. Got both sets at Best Buy as well, but had an audio shop downtown do the installation on those today because I wanted my rear deck altered a bit and Best Buy didn't want to do it. It turned out great, though! Worth a two day wait.
I plan to add an amp and a Bazooka tube later this summer. Details on that (and hopefully some pics) to come. |
