release groups have been putting out fake versions of Binary Finary's "2XXX" song since 2001. There hasn't been anything official since 2000. |

It's just one of the too many rereleases of the track trying to sell more with the changed title. "2004" is not a Binary Finary original production but just old remixes rereleased. "2004" vinyl includes 1999 - Gouryella Remix and 2000 - Dumonde Remix if i remember correctly. |

well saw him on friday, but just found this out
| quote: | BINARY FAKERY:
Binary Finary's name was made on the back of the huge hit tune "1998" and all subsequent re-releases and remixes of the same track, "1999" and "2000" etc.
The tune was written by Matt Laws and produced by Nuw Idol and that explosive line up has never worked together since. Please check the credits on the label copies of the releases to satisfy yourself about the veracity of what I am saying here. These are the only two contributors with royalty provisions for the track. Matt and I are in contact again and are planning a new collaboration as "Binary Finary & Nuw Idol" and so it is now time to clear up the situation with regards to the "Binary Finary" name and live act.
Matt is a real "out there" genius who sadly couldn't take the pressure of the stage at the time and so he sent his "mates" to play DATs out as him. While totally bereft of any real talent these mates, namely Ricky, got a taste for success and ganged up on Matt and pushed him out of the act even though they had nothing to do with the hit that made "their" name. Ricky Grant released just one other Binary Finary tune called "Niterider" on the Five AM label but even the most cursory listen would attest to in no way is it comparable to the quality of songwriting and production found in "1998".. for good reason.
Matt saw the worst side of what he calls "the back stabbing music business" and went into hiding for 6 years.
I, as Nuw Idol, was already a known underground trance producer, engineer and live artist when I was asked to produce "1998" and without wanting to blow my own trumpet I have since established a firm international status with my Live PA's, numerous successful records, compilations and re-mixes.
The current "Binary Finary live" line up is a total farce which has lasted for far too long. The real deal is going to hit the stage soon so it's time to put an end to this incredible lie. Pass it on guys!
Having said all that, apart from Binary Fakery, Knowwhere was still a wicked night filled with the best clubbers in London; T'was great dancing and chatting with you! Maximum Respect to the Knowwhere crew!

I think that on new years eve 1999/2000
Binary finary was prob the EDM tune that got the most play round the world to break in the new year.
I see that all the binary finary albums have the gouryella mix on it 1999 2000 and 2004. Exept the original 1998 one I think that one has a pvd mix on it.
I my opinion the gouryella mix is by far the best of any, thats prob why they have it on every album.
I think that that tune is by far the ultimate edm tune that there ever was. |

The most recent remix was in 2003 by Ronski Speed, surely, as part of the Positiva re-release?
As for that Binary Fakery thing, where do the other BF tracks- Anthemic and Cryogen- come in? If this Ricky guy only released Niterider, and 1998 was the only track the real duo worked on, who made em? |

Yep, Ronski Speed remix of 1998 was on the Positiva 10 years release. Why was it labeled as 1998 because all the new mixes so far have been labeled with the year of the release like 1999, 2000 but Ronski Speed's mix was still 1998. I don't get it really.
Cryogen was on the Positiva's '99 release of 1998/1999 remixes as a b-side/bonus track, not sure about Anthemic. |
